When starting services, mostly freight but also loco hauled passenger stock, it would be helpful to know whether the consists are air or vacuum braked (unfitted even) in order to set the locomotive brakes correctly. I have often struggled to figure out what wagons and coaches have which brake type.

It would be helpful to know which locos and coaches or freight-type wagons you are referring to, most older rolling stock like Class 37 or Class 47 which can be set to Vacuum or air, most older passenger coaches will have the brake type be it Vacuum or air or both written on the back. And you can tell by looking at the brake hose which is which, Where would this info be placed on the title card or where the scenario starts.
