So I thought maybe this topic deserves a separate guide thread (it popped out in a thread about AFB and LZB)

Many ppl suggested that more realistic kind of driving/braking means that before braking you set throttle to off, then apply brakes until necessary (lower AFB to lower value if you are driving with AFB on), then release them and reapply throttle

But sometimes, either cos you forget or because you drive like that, throttle is somewhere between min and 100% (not off), so here is a short list of things I tested on some routes and in training center - aka what happens if you have throttle on and start braking, and what you have to do when reapplying power:

    1) Electric brake - locks throttle; after releasing set throttle to off, then reapply throttle (aka reset the throttle)
    2) Train brake - locks throttle; after relasing set throttle to off, then reapply throttle (aka reset the throttle)
    3) Direct/locomotive brake - doesnt lock throttle (but only works if throttle is in lower percentages); after releasing you dont have to reset the throttle, power starts applying once the brake is released fully

I know for many this might seem like an obvious thing, but for beginners this might be a useful little guide, and for others, a good reference when they need to find it :)

P.S.: This guide doesnt apply to some EMUs or locos with blended electric brake (like Vectron) - since once you get to 0 position, it unlocks the throttle
