Have recently been running on the Clinchfield route. Is a little annoyed with the braking on SD40 (haven´t tried any other locos yet), it is impossible to make a small application. When I make an application it will either continue until the brakes are fully set or if I try to pull back on the brake lever it will go to release, it seems impossible to find the 'hold lap' position. Makes it hard to make a good descent as it isn't possible to hold the speed with only the dynamic brake without slipping (nor would it be very prototypical either).
Does anyone have a tip on how to manage the brakes or if it is possible to modify the loco in any way?

The brake physics on this is really poor.
