Hi, Because of the announcment that Dovetail have bought a BNSF license for outside of the USA, here is a list of routes that need unbranding. Montana Hi-Line The Racetrack That's all the routes I think should be unbranded but if there is more that are worldwide unbranded please reply and bring them in. With The Racetrack there is unofficial licensing in Railworks America but hopefully it will become real except just the BNSF units because Dovetail couldn't get a Metra license but at some point Metra might say the same thing as BNSF did like 5 years later which they once finally said 'yes'. Montana Hi-Line is likely to get unbranded soon because it's similar to Marias Pass except Montana Hi-Line it came out worldwide unbranded. Thank you for watching.. hope you enjoyed and hope this happens.
Jamie already answered this. Over time, they will all be unbranded. They have to remake the packages to make them availabl worldwide. This will involve work with Valve (Steam) on the back end, so don't expect it to be immediate. They will get branded over time. I have Racetrack myself, so I'm holding off on it now given the news. I'll have Montanas in the future as well as others.
Until not too long ago, legal reasons. If they had used BNSF markings without the railroad's consent, DTG could be in serious legal trouble and even come under lawsuit.
Dovetail just bought a BNSF license so they can brand the unbranded ones now. Btw it's been announced that it will happen but I didn't see it so that's why I created this thread.
All they have said is it will happen over the coming weeks (might have said months, but I read weeks). Makes me wonder if they are going to pop the second next week while the Steam sale is still on, or whether they will wait until the Steam sale ends so the rest are retail for a while. I presume everyone will get the existing sales price for Marias later this afternoon.
