One thing I noticed about train sim world, is that the headlights are only visible when you are very close to the train. In real life, you can easily see headlights from a train from kilometers away on flat terrain. Who thinks this should be changed? It should look something like this.
Yes, in the US, and it would be nice on European trains, but EU trains, like UK and DE, which make up the bulk of TSW, even IRL, are not meant to be that bright, as I understand it. A few links to check out. And maybe someone with a bit more knowledge of train headlights in Europe will chime in, but it sounds like there is change coming or has been coming with LED lights. That's not really an issue of the headlights being bright enough, but rather how they're rendered in game. Currently headlights have almost zero bloom (actually nothing in TSW has any appreciable bloom) and aren't rendered beyond a couple hundred meters, so no matter how bright they are locally, they will still be invisible until you're practically on top of the train you're passing.
