I just upgraded from a ps4 pro to a ps5 and the overall brightness is quite strong, I have gone into the settings to setup up the graphics but the routes still seem very bright. My tv (75" Samsung 4k) does have game mode but that doesn't seem to make a big difference, any suggestions?
There's no brightness settings at all in the game. You can try going onto your TV itself and adjusting the gamma (or brightness, but probably gamma) until you like what you see. But keep in mind now you'd need to adjust that when you go to something else. You can also go into the Playstation settings and try changing HDR between "always on" and "on when supported". TSW is a non HDR game. I didn't see much difference when I did this though.
HDR is standard now with most new releases, and I heard it will finally be in TSW5. Source of this was Reddit though, so I guess I can take that with a grain of salt
The strong brightness of the game is a problem across all platforms, including PC. However adjusting your graphic card output or monitor for just one game is not really a practical solution. Sadly it seems DTG didn’t devote any dev time in the build up to TSW5 for this aspect, whether toning things down generally or adding sliders that allow the users to trim gamma, brightness and contrast within the game itself.
