Could any consideration be given to providing a 5BEL train set for use on the Brighton Main Line: London Victoria - Brighton Route Add-On? The route itself is a great addition to TSW. It would surely be enhanced even more by the addition of this venerable old train. Dave
You can see https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/class-403-5bel-brighton-pullman-set.88855/ where I have already suggested this.
And, sadly, as DTG pretty much washed their hands of BML,the chances of it or any classic third rail EMU ever getting made seem as remote as ever. They were too timid to adjust the timetable to add a Class 700 layer.
They have said "expect the unexpected". You're not expecting them to do anything further with BML, neither am I. I hope we're both proven wrong as I'd love a Slam-door version or even a late 60's version with the Brighton Belle running alongside EBPs and 423s.
I believe it could be a cool pack, especially if some of the money raised went to the people restoring the real thing. However, DTG don't want to touch the VTB even though they could if they wanted, and there aren't that many other third rail routes in TSW to use it on.
Absolutely. Maybe even something similar to the TSC South London network but 60’s/70’s to run it on then the Electric Legends for BML. The timetable for the latter would be less intensive anyway particularly without a Thumper for the Oxted Line services. Though that would be nice as well!
OldVern, I am sure that you are aware of the modded timetable for this route that includes the 700 in 2 varieties. This proved that DTG's caution was not warranted. It is so busy, that during rush hour times, it is almost impossible to keep to schedule with all the trains ahead of you.
The BML Class 700 timetable is brilliant though it's only one that really tests my old gaming PC. It's very stuttery around Croydon. I kind of get why DTG didn't attempt it. It's one thing someone doing a free Timetable that's a bit jumpy but if you're selling a product like that then I can see it leading to loads of complaints. Maybe a more optimised TSW6 might make it a reality.
