May be a little late in the development process to be considered, but it would be great to have a one or two service freight layer included for variety using the Ardingly spur from Copyhold Junction. One of my favourite things in TSW is seeing or driving an unusual (freight, rail tour or otherwise) train outside of the normal (377/387) busy service schedule. My specific proposal would be to replicate the occasional trains that use the branch as a Class 66 layer for those who own ECW. The Ardingly spur itself is very short (1 mile to the yard from Copyhold Junction) and could be recreated I believe largely using existing assets from ECW and Tees Valley (for the offloading mechanism - I'm not sure that this would need to be exactly true-to-life given how few people ever see the branch in reality!). A Class 66 loaded with aggregate (from Acton Yard) would - Spawn at the Imperial Wharf portal near Clapham Junction as AI - Stop in Clapham Junction platform 17 to be picked up by the player - Drive to Haywards Heath Platform 1 - Run around the train using the loop and drive back up the Down line and up the short spur to the Hanson Aggregates yard to offload The whole process could then be repeated in reverse for the empty return trip, offloading the player at Clapham Junction platform 16. Even if this whole process was only once a day, it would add some decent variety to a very passenger-focused route. PS. This has already been mentioned but it would also add a lot of variety to be able to drive the GW Class 166 services from Redhill to Gatwick Airport return - I think BML has a lot of potential to finally use some layers in a way close to what the German routes have benefitted from. Additionally some AI services using SEHS Class 375 in and out of the other side of Victoria would add a lot of life to the approach and station itself.
The Class 166 (and 165) works services between Redhill and Gatwick Airport for GWR (services arrive into Redhill Platform 0 from the North Downs Line, then 'reverse' down BML to Gatwick Airport where the service terminates). Wikipedia claims the services operate once per hour to Gatwick Airport from Reading in this manner.
