They don't want to remake it. NEC can't be ported over to TSW2 because forgot the reason, but i guess there will be too much bugs. And I think a recording card or how is it called exists.
NEC won't be ported over for many reasons, the main one being that it was developed a lot differently to how routes are made today. This was the same issue with Sand Patch Grade and presumably Great Western Express, but these routes (especially GWE) were insanely popular in TSW. NEC was always the ugly duckling of TSW and that's why it won't come for now at least.
I do agree they should bring it back. But they need to do something different. The old route was just boring. I think the route should start at one of the terminuses such as Washington DC or Boston. They need to include an area where the trains get to go 125mph. Now I don’t live on the NEC so I know little about the route so idk what would make the most sense. I just think they should not being back the old route.
