In the late 1970s and early 1980s, the New York City subway system was one of the most dangerous places IN THE WORLD. "Fortunately" for those of us who didn't have a chance to see it in person, Swiss photographer Willy Spiller left to posterity his series of photographs, which he emphatically titled "Hell on Wheels".

Spiller, who lived in New York at the time, documented his underground travels with the curiosity of a foreigner "fascinated" by the madness of this metropolis.

It was the period of the first rap music, graffiti, the film "Warriors" of general chaos and rampant crime in the city. By 1980, the number of violent incidents in the New York subway was so high that more than 2,300 New York police officers were constantly patrolling the "subway" stations.

So you'd step back in time folks, apart from the usual troubles of trying to drive a old subway train along side in New York, you'd be exposed to a lot of raw and "offensive" material, lewd fashion, lots of police patrols, graffiti-ed trains, inside and out. I think it would be very interesting to witness it all. You even get to see New York in that time period two. It's an idea. Not your average idea that's for sure.

A phenomenal idea that sadly will never come to fruition. A gameplay session of Harlem Line mixed with The Warriors PS2 game may be the closest we ever get.

A good idea but DTG will sanitise the game experience so as not to offend anyone…
