Hello everyone today I will be suggesting the Bristol - Cardiff line for Train Sim World. Let's take a look. Introduction: The route comes at around 40-45 miles with each full route service being around 40 minutes long. 8th Gen Locos: GWR Class 158 GWR Class 43 'Castle Class' GWR Class 800/802 CrossCountry Class 220 'Voyager & 221 'Super Voyager' GWR Class 166 TnT Class 47 Bristol - Cardiff & Vice Versa Railtour LMS Leander + Class 47 Railtour (Same As TnT 47) TfW Class 67 + 82 TfW Class 150 Class 66 CrossCountry Class 43 9th Gen Locos: GWR Class 158 GWR Class 43 'Castle Class' GWR Class 800/802 CrossCountry Class 220 'Voyager & 221 'Super Voyager' GWR Class 166 TnT Class 47 Bristol - Cardiff & Vice Versa Railtour LMS Leander + Class 47 Railtour (Same As TnT 47) TfW Class 67 + 82 TfW Class 150 CrossCountry Class 43 TfW Class 231 Class 66 Tfw Class 170 Stops: Bristol Temple Meads Lawrence Hill Stapleton Road Filton Abbey Wood Patchway Pilning Severn Tunnel Junction Newport (South Wales) Cardiff Central Overall: Some of the scenery and stations are just amazing to look at on this route. I think this would be a welcome add-on for TSW 3/4.
Great suggestion mate, certainly an interesting route with some decent pieces of rolling stock, though of course it would be a great candidate for an earlier era. It would still be a great modern route and would get the 80xs in game which will be valuable for the future.
Yeah I'd definitely like it to go to Swansea, like the South Wales Mainline route for TSC. This also has the benefit of allowing the Class 800s swap to diesel at Cardiff for the Trip to Swansea, making it more interesting. You'd also see the TFW Class 175.
Really good suggestion! I like the sound of the diesel-electric class 231, that train interests me for some reason. But the other pieces of stock sound good. And I have to agree with matt here about it suiting an earlier era but I love this suggestion either way!
I feel like the Voyagers would make little sense as they dont Cross the severn tunnel unless there are works on the Bristol-Gloucester Line. I do like the idea though, maybe and Extension to Parkway as well could work, allowing 387s and more IET services. Also, i feel like it would be cool to add Newport Docks in for some extra freight services too
This would be quite a nice route, plenty of variety and traffic patterns around Bristol and Cardiff (no bias, not my local route at all). Shame that First are reluctant to give a GWR license though. Once they're taken over by the DfT it won't matter anyway
