As some of you may be aware, I am a huge fan of charitable projects to recreate British rolling stock that didn't survive into the current era due to being short sightedly scrapped. Many of these projects require immense support and fundraising in order to complete the objectives and bring these long lost types to life for us all to enjoy. To this end, I am again suggesting that DTG or third parties engage with these projects to create digital versions of these types and perhaps raise a little charity money into the bargain. The key players at this time are... https://www.brcw.co/ Current proposed projects BREL Class 210 DEMU (4 car) BRCW Lion diesel locomotive Hawker Siddeley Kestrel diesel locomotive
And a few more from BRCW Brush Falcon diesel locomotive Clayton DHP1 prototype diesel hydraulic locomotive Metro Cammell Blue Pullman diesel set
http://brightonbelle.com/ Class 403 5BEL Pullman set http://project22society.co.uk/ NBL Class 22 diesel hydraulic locomotive https://www.babydeltic.co.uk/ EE Class 23 diesel locomotive
It would be awesome to increase awareness of these amazing projects and perhaps help to raise the money to make them a reality.
Brilliant suggestion mate it is very important these projects are well funded and have the word about them spread. Also it would be lovely to see them in game too.
I wish that I could come up with some kind of rail related event to help raise some money for these causes. I am open to suggestions.
Sorry for the late tag dtg_jan but would these sorts of projects be things that you would take interest in including in the community spotlight because it is important for the word about these projects to be spread around. Again sorry for the tag so late in the day mate.
Bring it on to the game and for the 5BEL Brighton Belle it's a TSC locomotive that needs to be in TSW3. For the 5BEL it needs to be bundled with 4CEP 4REP 4TC 4CIG 4-VEP as the Legends of the southern region pack
Apparently the BRCW Project 210 is possibly about to get help to acquire some withdrawn Class 317 vehicles to help this scheme to move onto the next phase. This is according to news on their website.
Agree with everything said above. Would be fab to see these in game and get to appreciate them whilst giving a boost to preservation, even if not by proceeds through sales, it at the very least helps get coverage out and inspires those to seek out projects that may not be largely publicized, and hopefully helps the preservation companies through donations and gaining volunteers
