The British Rail Class 25 Diesel Electric Locomotive, also known as Sulzer Type 2 were a class of 327 locomotives built between 1961 and 1967 for British Rail. They were originally numbered in two series, D5151-D5299 and D7500-D7677. The class was made up of 4 sub classes, those being 25/0, 25/1, 25/2 and 25/3. These locomotives would make superb light freight (occasionally light passenger) motive power dlc for Northern Transpennine and Diesel Legends of GW routes as they could frequently be seen in these areas during their respective eras. Class 25 in BR Blue at Manchester Victoria in 1980.
Better be equipped with Blue Star MU Code to couple to class 45 Base route Huddersfield Line NTP Heavy Freight Class 40.
Someone also suggested this here, and he said what scenarios for this would be + he also suggested 31 layers for NTP too.
Many a sad photo akin to that one taken at Vic Berry's! Sadly most did.... Add my voice to those wanting Rats. Manchester Vic and Red Bank just ain't the same without a 25.
A new Loco would be Nice for NTP, But ive seen the Class 25 suggested at least 3 times so far for the route, Adam said in the Recent roadmap stream that the 101 was fun because it Kept your Attention instead of setup and go, if NTP Gets another DLC I want to see a DMU, and you know like the 123/124/ and 128 which i will start hammering home are the DMUs I Wish to see in the Game.
If we get another DMU, most likely to be the ubiquitous Class 108 or possibly a Class 117 to layer on GWE. Still think the 25 would be useful as it would be a ready layer for any future UK route set in the historic diesel area, fairly common everywhere apart from the Southern Region.
1000000% agree with all 3 dmu classes. As for the 123 and 128, both can also be added for Diesel Legends of the Great Western being regularly used in that era.
The 25 is my favourite class of loco so I'd love to see this, Plenty in preservation as well so getting sounds wouldn't be complicated.
