BR 363 service: move an intermodal 2.5 km . Easy, right? Wrong. There are 30 cars, and the service starts you with a dumped brake pipe. Now, here's the catch: you have 10 minutes to reach the first halt, or traffic will put you behind a permanent red. But it takes a full ten minutes for your little shunter just to pump up the brake pipe and get the brakes released on 30 cars!
Yeah it's impossible to complete on time but you also have to be careful with your speed on the incline or the train will stall and its impossible to re start it with out re setting back which the signals will not allow. I've tried it in both gears, shunting and distance. I was starting to think the service should be double headed or G6 only.
It isn't just "impossible to complete on time;" if you don't make the checkpoint by 0834, you're stuck behind a permanent red. So impossible to complete at all.
I think I was stopped at the station for about 20mins while all the other trains passed before I got the road for the final destination. I thought it glitches too.
Memo to DTG: Please consider modifying this service so you start off with the brake pipe charged; it takes a little 600hp shunter a month of Sundays to charge up a 30-car train.
