The Train Sim World 3 route I am suggesting is "Brunswick Line: Rockville to Martinsburg & Frederick", Which consists of the MARC Brunswick line and CSX Metropolitan/Old Main Line Subdivisions. The route would be set in the modern day, with MARC commuter trains rushing through Western Maryland, alongside heavy CSX trains passing by the bustling Brunswick yard. The Route MARC's Brunswick line is a commuter rail line originating in Washington DC's Union Station, and terminating in Martinsburg WV, and Frederick MD. The route will consist of the 55 miles of track between Rockville MD and Martinsburg WV/ Frederick MD, with 15 Unique MARC commuter stations along the way. The Trains (Passenger) The route would come (base) with the MARC MPI MP36PH-3C Locomotive, and/or the Siemens SC-44 Charger Locomotive. The route would also include the MARC Bombardier Multilevel coaches and the Bombardier Multilevel Cab Car. If the Siemens charger is not included, the MARC Nippon-Sharyo Single level coaches should be added to increase route diversity. MARC Commuter trains that travel across the route generally are formed of 3-5 car sets and should not be anywhere near as long as the NJT sets that are currently in the game. The Trains (Freight) CSX uses this route as a vital link to West Virginia and other Midwestern states, so it is crucial that many CSX trains are represented in the timetable for this route. The locomotives included would be the CSX ES44AC (or any other CSX specific variant of the GEVO) and possibly the EMD SD70MAC locomotives. The SD70MAC is a highly requested locomotive to be added into TSW 3, and many people would look forward to an American classic. The freight stock included with the route would be the standard stock that is included for routes like "Cajon Pass" and "Sand Patch Grade". The types of freight trains that pass through generally consist of coal trains, intermodals (single and double stacked due to tunnel heights), and manifest trains Features on the route and/or sights to see There would be many things to make this route unique, as the route passes by lots of historic sights and beautiful rolling landscape. In Rockville, the route passes parallel to the WMATA Metro Red line. In Gaithersburg, the station includes the Gaithersburg Museum, which has a B&O Budd RDC on display outside along with a steam locomotive. Many of the Stations along the line have historic waiting rooms/station buildings that, if explorable, would be a very welcome addition to the line. Boyd's is the smallest station on the line, consisting of a very short platform and a small shelter The Point of Rocks station includes the historic station building which has a steeple on top. The station is also located inside of a railroad wye Brunswick CSX yard is just east of the station, and serves many CSX trains that terminate at the yard. The Brunswick yard also includes a MARC storage yard, so yard moves could be present in the game. Harpers Ferry is a very beautiful town situated between the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers, and it is also on the border of West Virginia, Virginia, and Maryland. CSX's Shenandoah Subdivision branches off from the mainline here, resulting in two large bridges crossing the rivers, before immediately entering a historic tunnel. One of the CSX's Bridges also has a pedestrian walking section that is very popular with tourists to the area, and the ability to walk onto the bridge could perhaps be added to the game Shenandoah Junction is a very popular railfanning spot, as it is where a Norfolk Southern Line crosses over the CSX/MARC lines Layers The CSX AC4400CW from Sand Patch Grade could be layered onto CSX trains that travel across the line, as this locomotive is a very common sight alongside the similar GEVO series locomotives The CSX GP38-2 from Sand Patch Grade could be working the CSX Brunswick Yard, although it is uncommon to see these locomotives on through-trains, so they would probably just stay in Brunswick The NS ES44AC from Horseshoe Curve could be layered on as AI ONLY trains on the NS tracks at Shenandoah Junction DLC Many would say that the Amtrak GE P42DC would be a well fit DLC for this route, however, I believe that it would be better to introduce the P42DC on a different route with many timetable services, and have it as a layer onto this route, because Amtrak's Capitol limited only runs two services on this route. I believe that a a better DLC for this route would be the addition of more MARC locomotives, such as the GP39H-2, or more CSX locomotives. PIS I know that the developers are struggling to add in accurate PIS to many routes across the world, and that they are having an especially hard time nailing down the many different North American PIS systems, but the MARC PIS is actually very simple and could very easily be added onto the route. Final Notes Although the route may seem like just another American passenger route, the route is actually quite interesting in real life, and although it is not the busiest route in the world (especially not when compared to routes like NYP-TRE), the scenery on the route is amazing, with the tracks winding through valleys and alongside rural/urban towns. I believe that this route has the potential to become a fan favorite if the production is NOT RUSHED and TIME AND CARE are used while creating this route. It would be a real shame to see a beautiful route go to waste.
Lovely. Despite licensing issues, I would really enjoy this route. The wmata and marc are local to my area and since I've never had the need to travel on the marc, this would be a great way to experience it virtually.
Anywhere from 45-50 to around 70-80. Actually most of the trackage is in pretty good condition as there are tons of westbound CSX trains west of point of rocks so the speed is probably pretty high
Also I believe that if people want it this route could probably be extended to Washington Union I just left it out in the suggestion because MARC services would be like 2+ hours if they do the whole route
