This is really a love hate relation.
My PC is vanilla and runs fine in msfs2020 and DCS most advanced aircraft.
    I have reinstalled TWS3 with a restart..
I find the German trains almost impossible to run. The training with the DB cargo is erratic, sometimes it is impossible to reverse, even with switches set correct..
The older ICE and night cargo train starts OK in ordinary schedule, then after 20 minutes the power is lost (HUD reads OK power) and train coast down a stop. Hitting all buttons and try to reset, no cigar.
The new ICE started OK with BZL system set, and run the 1 hour trip fine
Next 3 identical run started, but ended shortly with braking and yellow warning 1000hz along with German warning voice, I hit the both BZL reset and acknowledge quickly as learned in training module, did not help. . Tried every button lever move combination. Advice told me to raise pantograph and close CB.
Final try started with a couple warning, and train was creeping at 2 km/t. Not able to reset.
The worst thing is that there is no learning curve. When getting train to move again after an unknown stop, I do not know what and why a sequence of button/handle movement fixed it.
Only thing I learned the hard way, is when called for opening doors first time, you have to insert key and set reverser to neutral to power up system.
The British and US trains runs fine. With a small exception to Javelin. When switching from/to third track I often get the shoe up down sequence wrong, and it is impossible reset and start over again.
For now I run British trains.
Leaving German for future proper tutorials or update patch.

If you ever get emergency stopped with the ice1, you have to press the hll fill button towards the right side of the brake gauge screen I believe until you get 5bar in your brake pressure. When you get pzbd, just acknowledge and end and then reapply power like you mentioned. Just that for freight trains, it will take a bit longer to move since the brakes have to come off the whole train

I'm assuming you had afb on for the 2kmh limit? If you did, to turn off afb, you have to press the afb off switch, put afb to 0 and then reset your throttle, meaning back to 0 and reapply.

For the javelin, all you need to do is to put reverser into neutral, press and hold the correct power mode, ctrl for overhead, dc for third rail, and then press pan up shoes down twice. Make sure the line volt light is on and mcb/vcb light off

The trains are far simpler than planes, just keep fettling, searching here and reading tutorials. When you suss out German signals and running with all safety systems on you’ll get some amazing runs in

There is always the possibility of the PZB/LZB being buggy but we would need to see exactly when the emergency brake happened to tell
