There is indeed a bug with the AWS on the Class 166, which was introduced by the latest update. It only affects trains heading towards Paddington, if you're driving a train in the Reading direction you should be fine. Please note that you have to explicitly enable AWS and the DSD (vigilance) as the safety systems are disabled by default. To do this, you'll have to either use Shift-Enter or toggle the AWS switch in the box behind the driver's seat: This is where GWE gets a bit odd: in real life, you disable AWS when you toggle this switch.
