Below are some of the bugs I've encountered while playing 'Train Sim World : Founders Edition' for the Xbox One, and also some suggestions I've made: 1. Scenario mode is a mess. It doesn't matter what time I arrive at a station or depart from them, I always end up with red crosses at the results screen (though I may randomly get the odd green tick). This is annoying because it doesn't seem to keep track of your results anyway. My suggestion would be to implement some sort of a scoring system (similar to TS2018) whereby you can get a max of 1000 points per scenario (Obtaining either a Gold, Silver or Bronze Medal). Points are deducted for things like speeding, arriving to a station late, operational errors etc. Because as it stands now, I can speed and the game doesn't even care! 2. The Drivers Cabin is too quiet. When recently playing the first Scenario with the Class 166; I notice that every time you depart from a station, the cabin doors close and the sound is almost dead silent. I can barely hear the train or the tracks as you go over them. This should be rectified by at the very least being able to open a window in the drivers cab. 3. More Tutorials. The tutorials included are great, but there's nothing about signalling or advanced driving. What does a yellow signal mean? Should I slow down after passing it? What about a double yellow signal? What does this mean? Can I apply the throttle to max power immediately or should I ease it there? And if I should ease it there, why? Is there a designated stop marker where I need to stop trains when pulling into stations? Or should I just use the games HUD indicator? Similar with speed limits, at what point does the speed limit apply? When first encountering the speed limit sign? Or when the last car of the train passes that sign? 4. Obvious graphical/technical optimization. This speaks for itself and everyone talks about it. FPS drops, graphical glitches, flickering and jittering, slow at loading scenery/tracks, falling through the closed drivers cabin door and so on. 5. Japan Routes. I know it's only early days and I'm getting ahead of myself here, but I've played a few Train Sim games thus far and I'm tired of seeing UK and US routes all the time. I get it, they must be popular and everything but I wanna see some Japanese routes. In TS2018, the 'Wakayama & Sakurai' line was one of my favourites. It felt really well made and authentic, even having the conductor make announcements in Japanese! 6. Fast Forward Feature. The second scenario involves catching a train to Paddington (as a passenger), and then preparing to drive a HST train parked at Paddington. The whole initial process before you actually start driving is around 30 minutes, and you can't skip it. It's awesome the first few times, but after that, you just wanna get into driving straight off the bat. And making me wait by catching the train to Paddington again gets annoying. Anyways, the above are just some bugs I've encountered and suggestions made. If I can think of anymore, I'll add to this thread. I want to see this game go far on the Xbox One!
Please see GWE Signalling for help with signalling. NB. Although the article mentions flashing yellows and we're assured the necessary code is already there it doesn't actually trigger for some reason or other in the PC version. I assume, dangerous I know, that it's the same in the Xbox version.
Thanks. That's a fantastic guide, I might feel confident driving without the HUD displays now I still think a few tutorials of such nature would be a great benefit.
