As I continue to play TSW2 to relax....become more stressed, I'm finding more bugs that somehow were not fixed. LiRR has a glitch where you can't spawn at the station you choose. I'm trying to do collectibles and it just puts me wherever the heck it feels like. GWE: Christmas Closures seems to break about halfway through as the train refuses to move after swapping ends. I've tried doing additional things not in the scenario step-by-step, in addition to following the steps to a t. I've looked up videos and done what the player has, still the train refuses to move. Very disappointed with this game so far as it somehow seems even worse off than what 2020 was, despite having a preservation team swoop in and "fix" stuff.
Just tried this myself (on PC admittedly) and it works OK SEQUENCE : Run from Ealing into depot and stop at marker Power to zero Brakes to emergency Reverser to engine off Lights to REAR Isolate AWS Shut off indicator (set dimmer to 0%) Turn off master key Stand up, open door climb down, close door Walk to other end, open door climb in, close door Sit down Master key on Headlights to DAY and MARKERS Brakes to initial Unisolate AWS Set indicator dimmer (usually 75%) Wait for brakes to drop (second gauge from the left on the dash) Power to 2 or 3 due to snow Away it went
Thanks, I will test this out tonight. I presume by "emergency" you mean "full service"? That is maximum brake for me, there is a red emergency brake button to the left, though. EDIT: I did get a chance to try this and it worke. I did however pay particular attention to the brake pressure. I don't know if I was trying to go before it got to 0.0 and that prevented me moving? Doesn't make sense, considering i was throttled up at the start with BP at like 3.5 and it drove away eventually. If it was down to AWS and the dimmer, the scenario fails to tell the required steps to actually finish it. Not good.
Yeah, basically full forward I think it IS the AWS that messed it up, because this would leave the now trailing loco in a wake state meaning it could shove the brakes on but it could also have been that you didn't wait long enough for the brakes to release, but this does only take a few seconds so unless you were very impatient my money would be on AWS causing the trailing loco to lock you out
no doubt in my mind it was AWS. I know from the earlier starts it has a bit of lag for the power to move the train. I raged and went to the bathroom and it was still at 0.0 mph not moving before you told me about AWS. A shame the scenario doesn't tell you to fiddle with it.
I don't think the scenario tells you to turn it ON, so no reason for it to tell you to turn if OFF just in case. You being more thorough than the scenario script at the beginning (in turning things on to make it realistic) caused the issue
i don't touch a single thing outside what the scenario says, which is why its absolute trash that I need to fiddle with it at that depot to proceed.
LIRR is broken. If you use immersive controls to open doors, for the passengers to board, the game spazs out and you can't open or close the doors anymore
If you don't turn AWS on then you won't have to turn it off at the other end, so that won't have been the problem
Another error on GWE since spirit of steam launched and the game updated. I'm grinding the class 52 milage trophy going from reading to paddington flat-out. Since the update my train just cuts off the power after 75 or so mph. indeed. the way i worked around that was just annoyingly getting out of my seat every stop to manual open the closest door to the engineers seat. didn't realize it was due to immersion controls. another frankly unforgivable bug. i guess the triain gods decided to just shine down on me then the 7th or 8th attempt at the scenario.
