In this build, installed lately on my Train Simulator Classic 2024, the FPS results are offcorse enabled in the options of Train Simulator, but they do not shows up, so I can not see anything from that. What can or must I do now, to see something of the FPS in the started Train Simulator Main Menu and scenarios.
In build 75.8a it was and is possible, it is activated in the options and appears on the screen, without Shift + Z ingame
Really not sure what you mean. The menus haven't changed for a decade, and there was never an option to show FPS in TS' menu.
Did you never been in "Steam\Oprions\In Game" where you could activate the FPS in game, also where you woold like to see it, left or right above or down, with contrast it looks better
You haven't mentioned Steam Overlay settings, your post suggests the TS ingame options. I never use the Steam Overlay, but I've just tried it and it does show the FPS. Not sure what's wrong on your end. v77.6b in Borderless mode. Maybe you are running in DX Fullscreen (not recommended - Fullscreen is de facto outdated, many issues not only in TSC with DX9 exclusive Fullscreen)
Are you using the Vulkan API either directly from GitHub or via RWE2 settings? Overlays (which the Steam FPS counter is one) do not work with overlays afaik.
Where can I find this settings in TS, I installed the latest version of Vulkan API and what must I change in the settings ?
Strange thread. The initial claim was disproven, nothing to do with the build. This is now more about finding out the details the OP doesn't give us...
This new build is now installed and the FPS does not show up, how should I know, what I must change, to get it on the screen ?
As well as enabling/disabling the Steam Overlay on a global basis within Steam you can also enable/disable it on a game-by-game basis so have you checked the setting for TSC itself? In Steam go to your library, then right click TSC 2024 and select properties. The first setting under General is Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game. Is that activated or de-activated?
I can't remember ever having used the Steam overlay (I use FRAPS for an FPS counter) but I just tried to activate it when running TSC and pressing the SHIFT TAB keys whch was the default option to activate it in-game did nothing. I then changed the key binding to something else and I could then activate the overlay in-game but I still had no FPS counter. I didn't come out of TSC but re-activated the Steam Overlay and then selected the settings button at the bottom of the overlay and changed the In-game FPS counter high contrast color to on from the default off and then came out of the overlay & I got the FPS counter displayed in my selected corner of the screen. Maybe those steps might do something for you.
Maybe that makes it going, but why should we do that, when it is activated in the settings, it should show up, without any further doing, like in the build 75.8a
Tbh none of us can truly understand your problem, we've gone through all the ways you can activate or deactivate fps counters and your replies to each suggestion leaves us more confused, here is a list of the ways I know, if none of these are what you want then idk what else to suggest so probably wont reply further. In-game - Shift + Z Steam - check Steam settings, has already been explained how Nvidia or AMD software - check in settings of each program OBS - check in settings Lossless Scaling - tick box on main window All of these bar the in-game one are overlays and will not function if using either Vulkan API or Vulkan via RWEnhancer 2. That's it, that's all I got.
Many many thanks for your answers, but none of that is working, I still do not have the FPS showing on the screen. It´s now up to ask the developers from Dovetailgames for help, hopefully somebody will answer to this.
Sounds like a Steam overlay problem - so you need to talk to the Valve guys Does the Steam overlay FPS work in other Steam games? If you need FPS then just use shift+z like everyone else and relax ;-)
We've already gone over this, read the thread in full you'll see where we're at, or not as the case may be.
The FPS display you're having a problem with is provided as an Overlay by Steam. It isn't within Dovetail's control, nor the scope of their development team to deal with. You need to contact Steam regarding this issue I think. Yes, I understand there may be changes happening between how TSC and Steam are interacting with each other, but the overlay is Steam's to work on.
You mentioned in post #9 "I installed the latest version of Vulkan API" DTG might say that is the problem Try removing it and see if you can see the FPS Counter with Shift and Z
Today I did find the error, the Steam Overlay in the properties of Train Simulator Classic 2024 was not activated, now it is and it works. Many many thanks to all of you !!!
