INTRODUCTION Today, I'm suggesting a route operated by C2c (owned by Trenitalia ). This route would be 2 hours and 25 minutes long with 78 miles of track (125 km) and have 28 stations in total. THE ROUTE -The route is 78 miles long -There are 28 stations in total -the route is 2 hour and 25 minutes long ROLLING STOCK 357/0,357/2,357/3 The class 357 manufactured by Adtranz and Bombardier Transportation as part of the Electrostar family 74 of these 4 car trains were built from 1999-2002 with 46 /0s,11 /2s and 17 /3s the maximum designed speed of this train is 100 mph (160 km/h) and the safety systems used are TPWS/AWS. 720/6 The class 720 manufactured by Bombardier Transportation Alstom as part of the Aventra family 107 5 car units were built from 2020-present with 44 /1s, 89 /5s and 12 /6s the maximum speed designed this train is 100 mph (161 km/h) and the safety systems used are TPWS/AWS. POTENTIAL DLC 387/3 The class 387 manufactured by Bombardier Transportation as part of the Electrostar family with 104 4 car units built from 2014 - 2017 with 74 /1s,24 /2s and 6 /3s the maximum designed speed of this train is 110 mph (177 km/h) and the safety systems used are TPWS/AWS and ETCS for GN and HX units . CONCLUSION If C2c came to tsw4 it would be quite interesting thanks for reading my suggestion feel free to comment your opinion on this route .
Omg! It's an electric 170 with electrostar sounds! The Aventura looks cool. That would be interesting to see. Interesting suggestion!
Good suggestion once again, I do think that the C2C network has a good chance of appearing in the game (license-dependant) and it'll be nice to have another AC Electrostar in game compared to the DC-only 375s and 377s and dual-voltage 387s
I'd be very happy with this route, as I posted in another thread recently: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/c2c-route-london-tilbury-and-southend-line.69534/ - it's a complete route with some layering of AI trains from SEHS where the two routes run next to each other, and future potential for District/Circle/Hammersmith & City tube line layering too. You have however missed out the Purfleet - Rainham - Dagenham Dock part of the Tilbury loop!
I didnt want to make it too long as it would be over two hours I would've added it if it was under 1 hour and 50
Brilliant idea, my avatar is an ex-LTS Class 302 unit because I grew up next to the line at Upney and worked on the line for 7 years. There are no services that are much more than an hour on this route and that includes the stopper services around the loop. I really think it's time for a train sim version of this route, it's the perfect length, there are branches and freight yards, urban, city centre, suburban, countryside, industrial, marshes, seaside and a few challenging gradients. So I think all sections of the C2C route should be included. Wouldn't it be great if they could model both high and low tide along the seawall? Current era with 357s and 720s would be good. The 387s only ran a couple of diagrams in the peaks so wouldn't be such an interesting addition. My personal favourite era would be 2002-2004 with Class 312 (slam door trains) and the then fairly new 357s, but modern day would be good too
I back this suggestion, I love the C2C lines and they have nice scenery in some parts. This would be a nice way to bring Essex in the game, as off the top of my head I can't think of a route including Essex. But having a go on the 720 simulators in real life, they're amazing to drive, for me a 720 is a big want in the game.
Don't know how you're working out those timings, Southend Central to Fenchurch Street via Rainham is about 1 hour 15 minutes. Look on the route map on the thread I linked earlier, the Tilbury loop has two routes to get from Grays to Barking. Also, the Ockendon branch was just a shuttle route until Chafford Hundred opened in the mid-1990s and made it feasible to extend services to either end of the line. Missing out the route via Rainham would miss out the parallel stretch to SEHS I mentioned.
Cool suggestion. Would be great to have the Class 357 in the game as it’s the first variant of the Electrostar family that was built.
but you would never drive a single service that is 2 hours long, its multiple different services on a network. it would make it much more interesting.
Realistically, Stratford and Liverpool Street are such large and busy stations that it wouldn't be worth the effort of creating them just for the occasional c2c services that go here at the weekend (or when there are engineering works that shut Fenchurch Street). More realistic is that this might be an option after such a time that a Greater Anglia route is created - otherwise both stations would be lifeless.
By the way, another reason it made sense to include Grays - Purfleet - Rainham - Dagenham Dock - Barking (so thanks for adding them) is that some services go from Thorpe Bay or Southend Central to Fenchurch Street via that stretch instead of the Ockendon branch. Such as the peak morning train I went on this morning, for one!
Oh, just for accuracy, you've mentioned 'Balisdon' in a couple of places, those should be 'Basildon'.
Would love to see this route appear. Long overdue. Perhaps JustTrains might add it to a list to consider. Love to see the result of their work on it. LTS is a lovely line and much overlooked.
I'm thinking of chaining myself to a lamp post outside DTG HQ in Kent and chanting "What do we want? LTS. When do we want it? As soon as feasibly possibly please" and maybe leave a few "Visit Essex" brochures in reception. Too much?
To slightly misquote Rimmer: (Red Dwarf) Yes! It's time to get tough, the time for talking is over! I say we hit them hard with a major, and I mean major.leaflet campaign, and while they're reeling from that we could follow it up with a whist drive,a carboot sale, some street theatre, maybe even some benefit concerts! That should get the message across.
Bringing this back to the top, given the tease in yesterday's December Roadmap that the GOBLIN (Gospel Oak to Barking line) is coming at some point. If that comes out on its own, surely there'd have to be AI layers at Barking for c2c (and maybe even S7 Tube stock), otherwise it'd look deserted.
The best you can hope for is 387s as AI, they're not going to build 2 new types of traction for this route. Barking will be very quiet if it's just Overground services. Having worked there it's going to feel weird having a workplace in a simulator!
Really pleased to see part of the LTS appear. Hope it’s something that turns into the whole route one day. Fingers crossed. I don’t know if DTG have the licence to use c2c livery. Awesome if they do.
If they don't have the C2C license then they could still do the route but based in BR or NSE eras or even the early Green or Grey door plain white liveries the 357s had when they first entered service.
I was thinking more in terms of an eventual C2C line in TSW, that wouldn't include Barking Riverside anyway as C2C are never going there. I don't think a C2C add-on would be anything to do with this release and would likely be set in the 90s or 00s.
My only concern re the LTS being made is are DTG likely to do another route set just north of the Thames so soon after this one and with no real link between the two other than one shared station? The Goblin line being made likely means there are no plans for c2c. Obviously just my opinion and I hope I am wrong.
With DTG already working on the next few releases there's probably another South East route on the cards at some point in the next year. TSW has seen a lot of London Midland Region content in the last year, MML, Glossop, Birmingham, Peak Forest and Blackpool so I don't think GOBLINs release will have a big impact on the possibility of other "north of the Thames" suburban routes. The other reason I'm optimistic is that the release of GOBLIN doesn't change the fact that East Anglia and Wales still don't have any routes in TSW. It's only a matter of time.
