I am thinking in the next couple weeks, maybe just before Thanksgiving. I am super excited for this DLC, I hope I am not let down. (although I probably will be)
It is much easier to compare the AC4400CW to the GE C44-9W. The only difference between those two is they have AC traction and DC traction respectively. The C40-8W design is about 10-15 years older. It has older electronics, software, and it has DC traction. Iirc, the AC4400CW was the first production locomotive to use AC traction motors, which are less prone to overheating under low speed stress.
