For tsw3 I think the Calder Valley line should be created. This route is located in west yorkshire and lancashire and (so the pacers are involved) be based before 2019. The calder valley line is over 100 miles long so (unless long routes are here to stay) the route should be from Leeds to Manchester Victoria and Burnley. The route is around 58 miles. This is my local line so it will be brilliant if this is recreated for train sim world 3. If leeds to Manchester Victoria and Burnley doesn't sound like a good route, feel free to suggest another in the replies. Rolling stock All operated by Northern Class 142 pacer Class 150 sprinter (don't reuse the rivet games 150) Class 156 super sprinter Class 158 sprinter Class 195 too if at a time the pacer and 195 ran together. Services According to wikipedia, these are the services for the calder valley line. Bradford Interchange–Halifax–Huddersfield (Class 150/155 trains and occasionally Class 158 Leeds–Dewsbury–Manchester Victoria (Class 150 and 158 trains) Leeds–Halifax-Manchester Victoria-Chester (Class 158 or Class 195 Civity trains) York-Leeds–Halifax–Preston-Blackpool North (Class 158 and 195 trains) Blackburn–Burnley–Todmorden–Manchester Victoria (Class 150 or 156) Halifax-Bradford Interchange-Leeds-Hull (Class 170/Class 158) DTG, you should make this route, the pacer has been suggested a lot and also upgrading the terrible rivet games class 150. It is also a lot more popular than what I thought. The timetable is busy, the scenery is good, a branch line to burnley and pacers! edit: way more detailed version here
I never really understood why they called this line the Calder Valley Line. Only about 1/3 of the line actually follows the Calder Valley. The true CVL should be Castleford via Wakefield and Mirfield as it mostly follows the River Calder. It's a good suggestion though and I have travelled on the section between Leeds and Todmorden and to Preston where I changed for the WCML to Penrith.
A very good suggestion which will bring a more modern experience in the north. Also the 40s were withdrawn in the 80s so wouldn't fit the era of this route.
In terms of length it's 2nd place to Schnellfahrstrecke Hannover Kassel Würzburg 186km (115 mi) due to whole Calder Valley Line being 100 mi (160 km). Game play wise Pacers are going to combine with the mentioned sprinters. If you want to see the present day version click on my signature on what it looks like now. Your Class 150/2 is going to be better than the Rivet Games version since It runs like a electric multiple unit instead of a diesel. Layers Huddersfield Line Class 40 08 heavy freight base package 47 45 101
yh, I agree. The only issue is licensing which is why I set it in the br era. But I guess I'll change it so we have modern trains operated by northern, but maybe a few years back so the pacer can be used.
As I mentioned before, the class 40 was withdrawn by the 90s and so were the 45s so would not fit the originally suggested 90s era and most definitely not the pre 2019 era.
I would prefer it modern or shortly after regional railways era because Transpennine express used it then
we need another route that's close by eachother like East Coastway and BML just a shame they aren't both in the modern era
each to their own I like being able to ride on a route and recognise what I see which you don't get with older routes because the devs can't collect any new reference material meaning some areas are just 'poetic license'
This is why I like my older routes as I can relive memories from the past. I rode on NTP a few times in the 80s and from what I remember the TSW version is a fairly decent recreation of how I remember it and that was 40 odd years ago!!
I've only just started playing TSW2 after having it installed for some time. I quickly rushed into buying the Manchester to Leeds line not realising there was an alternative route to the CVL (Train Novice) - and with this being the line I have always used, this would easily make me purchase TSW3 if it became available.
Existing Manchester Victoria to Leeds City is the Huddersfield Line via Standedge Tunnel. For Calder Valley Line it's via Bradford Interchange and Halifax.
I am aware the existing line on TSW2 is the via Huddersfield route. Is the Bradford Interchange and Halifax route available, as I was stating I would purchase if so.
