Running for a length of 65 miles, the line from Glasgow to Dunblane has already been partially modelled as part of Rivet's Edinburgh to Glasgow route. This segment of the line is included due to the Inverness, Dundee and Aberdeen services running via this route. Alongside the commuter services from Glasgow to Dunblane, Alloa and Falkirk Grahamston, the route has plenty of freight traffic to places such as the oil terminal at Aberdeen and the intermodal terminal at Blackford amongst others. Proposed Rolling Stock Class 43 in ScotRail 'Inter7City' livery The ScotRail HST sets entered service in 2018, freeing up 170s and 158s for use on new services or adding extra carriages to existing ones on routes such as the Fife Circle. The fleet consists of 25 5car sets of Mk3s, with first class in one coach. The fleet is due to be replaced in late 2026/early 2027, with the expectation being that the EMR 222s will migrate north after their replacement on the Midland Mainline by the Class 810 'Aurora' units. On this route, they would run one train per hour from Glasgow Queen St to Aberdeen and return with only one stop at Stirling as well as a few services from Queen St to Inverness (1008 and 1507). They would also appear on the 0721 from Dunblane to Queen Street (starts from Perth, calls at Bridge of Allan and Stirling) and the 2010 from Dunblane to Queen Street (starts from Inverness, calls at Stirling) as well as some AI only appearances on services from Edinburgh to Inverness. Including AI services, they would add 38 services to this timetable. Class 70 in Colas livery The Class 70 would handle the Colas freight workings to/from Aberdeen on this route which are drivable between Dunblane and Cumbernauld and would bring brand new JPA and ICA-D wagons to the game as well as the Grangemouth Oil workings which are drivable between Falkirk Grahamston and Cumbernauld and would also utilise a modified version of the TEA wagons from the Heavy Freight Pack to give them the latest suspension physics as well as a blue VTG livery. All in all, this would add 10 services to the route. Class 385 in ScotRail livery The Class 385 would form the bulk of the timetable, due to it operating all the electric services on this route, adding around 300 services to the timetable including AI services. They would appear on ECS workings from Eastfield, all services to Falkirk Grahamston, all services to Alloa, all services to Dunblane, terminating services from Queen St to Cumbernauld as well as the express services from Glasgow Queen St to Edinburgh (featured on route from Glasgow Queen St to Croy). The units come in 3 and 4 car formations and are capable of 100mph working. Service layers Class 158: adds Dundee and Perth services as well as select Aberdeen/Inverness services from both Edinburgh and Queen St, as well as Anniesland - Queen St services Class 170: adds Dundee and Perth services as well as select Aberdeen/Inverness services from both Edinburgh and Queen St (50/50 chance of layering with 158), as well as additional peak time Anniesland - Queen St services Cargo Line Vol 5: Adds 2 additional services from Carlisle to Georgemas Jn (drivable between Cumbernauld and Dunblane) Engineering Express Pack: Adds 4 intermodal services with DRS 66 from Inverness to Coatbridge and Mossend to Blackford (Cargo Line Vol 3 required for wagons) Class 801: adds 2 LNER services to/from Inverness, drivable between Falkirk Grahamston and Stirling. RHTT: adds 3 services to the route between Falkirk and Stirling (return) as well as 1 run from Stirling to Cumbernauld. Cargo Line Vol 3: adds 6 services to the route between Falkirk Grahamston and Cumbernauld.
