I noticed that a very highly used feature has disappeared in TSW4, when you go to camera mode when your driving you had the ability make the camera move faster by pressing the left stick (LS) button, now it’s gone even though in the controller layout diagram it says that you still speed it up by clicking LS but also the right d-pad button. This feature would be very handy for railfanning your train while your driving, and I’m sure many players would want to use even when they’re playing on console, not on PC, as they have this and the console people don’t. Please I urgently ask you, DTG, on the behalf of us railfans to bring this popular feature back to TSW4 and never remove it ever again in the future.
Moving the cam quickly is still possible on consoles but you need to use a keyboard to do it. I play on PS5 and use a USB keyboard for a lot of shortcuts but I still use the controller to actually drive the trains.
the shift key and directional buttons on the keyboard (both must be pressed and held) or the shift key and your controller stick (again keep hold of the keyboard shift key).
They've known about this problem since the launch of TSW4. Here we are at the "Winter Core Update (Pt 1)" and it's barely been addressed and no visible attempt has been made to fix it. Other analog stick related issues have cropped up since TSW4 including external camera not working and using L+R to enter photo mode sometimes crashing your game. Using a keyboard shouldn't be the only option and shame on the development team for both allowing this regression to ship in a full price paid product, but more for allowing it to continue unfixed for this long.
So camera speed up works using Classic controls like it states in the menu? When you hit Right stick you always get the external camera and don't have to hit it many times to get it to function? Using L+R to call up photo mode doesn't sometimes crash your game? Then consider yourself lucky. I've already reported that part of this problem is caused by joystick drift on "broken" controllers. That was last month. If your right stick is not "centered" when you trigger external camera it will not function. Even that part hasn't been addressed. I think the other part is that the photo mode shortcut isn't working as intended and "eating" presses meant for other functions. Why sprint doesn't work in Classic controls is still beyond me, though. It could be the problem exists in both controller configurations.
The only problem I have is with the external camera speeding up, which is a core issue. But I don't have to hit the right stick multiple times for rhe external camera.
isn't it right analog stick pressed down and down on the d-pad to access photo mode? The same as was brought in with TSW3 and the shift function.
I don't have the game on Xbox but I tried that combination on my PS5 and nothing happened. On PS5 you hit Left stick and Right stick at the same time to get into photo mode, but using that sometimes can crash your game. If you want to access photo mode, you're better off using the keyboard shortcut or the shortcut in the pause menu instead. The keyboard shortcut is Shift+Space, and another one I forget. Having the keyboard shortcuts available in-game on console would also be useful as the manual made for the PC version tells you to look for the controls in-game, which you can't even do on console.
