I know this may sound daft and obviously not real but is it possibel to swop engines? I mean if you have a favourite engine you love to drive can you say put it in another route? Col.
You can. Two options: 1) Free Roam. Just bear in mind electric trains will not work on routes which don't have the right current to power the train. 2) Scenario Planner. Unlike Free Roam, any train will work on any route as long as Off the Rails mode is on. Otherwise you're restricted to the trains that were released for the route.
Mon Colonel, YouTube is a great source of information, guides and tutorials. As jack#9468 said, there's many possibilities. Though it may take somebody to show you how to access these. Often it's better to see how things can be done, rather than only reading. Forum member Myron has done an easy to follow tutorial:
