As a person with some game development knowledge I rarely bash on developers, and I understand that stream distorts the quality by a lot, but you cannot be serious about this being a visual and lighting upgrade, right? Can we please get an option to keep the beautiful original version of the route in the TSW4? New TSW4: Old TSW3: New TSW4: Old TSW3: New TSW4:
Personally I quite like the new one better, it’s maybe a bit bright/over exposed in some parts but seems more realistic. The old is quite dingy and not how I’ve seen any city I’ve walked about in. The 101 cab is also quite a natural darker comparison to the 193. the old one is on TSW3 if you have it now and wanna play it though.
I had asked for this when TSW3 ruined my experience on SEHS and BPR. Not going to happen. You'll have to keep TSW2/3 installed to play the better versions of the older routes.
Oh hear we go again. No. The answer is No. The only thing you can ask for now is for them to make improvements to the TOD 4 lighting. They aren't gonna add an option in the game that gives you the ability to decide what lighting version you want, that a ridiculous ask to be honest.
Just play tsw3 or tsw2 if you want the old lighting. Without vectron services of course but they aren't going to change the lighting
TOD4 is just too over exposed in daylight conditions. It's very simple to see. A gama slider to properly calibrate peak brightness would be a massive improvement and would solve so, so much. Shame this was kept for the photo editor mode only. The main game is crying out for it.
Yes, I also prefer the daytime TOD4 lighting, though I agree that it needs to be adjusted downwards for daylight and I personally could willingly lose the eye adaptation feature altogether. My main concern is how the lighting will affect night time conditions. Contrary to most people's opinion, I think the current night lighting on DRA is dreadful and, after watching the Voralberg stream, I worry that TOD4 will make DRA even worse.
One looks like 10 am, the other looks like 8 in the evening. I definitely don't agree that the TSW2 lighting looks better, even if DRA was one of the TSW2 routes with best lighting (especially night lighting).
TOD4 screenshots look so washed out that shadows appear as a light grey. Hmm.. maybe this is where they got their idea for their menu highlight colour in TSW3
