Hi everyone, I have never played Train Sim World before but I want to get into, I'm looking to buy Train Sim World 3 on the PS Store but there are so many options and I'm confused, I've never seen so much DLC in my life lol

Ok so I am wanting to buy the Birmingham Starter Pack , but I'm confused if this is just a route/map or its the full Train Sim World 3 game + that route?. I want the full Train Sim World 3 game plus that Birmingham Route. Its very confusing because on the PS store it doesn't explain it in the description, it says Game Bundle, does that mean it also comes with the base game of Train Sim World 3?. This is the one I'm looking at: https://store.playstation.com/en-gb/product/EP2866-PPSA07618_00-TSW3BIRMINGHAMPK

Thank you so much and your help will be very appreciated. Kind regards.

    Hi & welcome !

    BCC1.JPG

Above pack will give you Training ( Centre / Center ) along with BCC.

Above pack will give you Training ( Centre / Center ), base TSW3 ( CJP / SKW ) along with BCC.

Now, it's your call to make :D

Any starter pack will give you tsw3, but each are different in what dlc you will get. Better to get the standard version of tsw3 as it gives you more routes. Each starter pack (germany, us, uk) only gives you 1 of the base routes. BCC starter pack only gives you bcc. And you go from there.

I don't blame you for being confused. Playstation Store is atrocious for packages. On PS5 you can't see the differences on console but you can access the different versions using the three dots. I find the PS App best for browsing packages. On the web you can see them as well, and add them to cart or wishlist. If my math is right there is nearly DOUBLE the number of 'editions' for TSW3 than all other 'editions' of Train Sim World combined. TSW3 has far too many packages, it screams desperation

I think the confusion here is that you're looking at TSW as a separate game in itself.
TSW is basically the engine that the DLC run on, so if you don't get a route pack with the game you're going to have no content at all

Think of TSW more like a collection of train simulations or model railways. You get your contoller and interface in TSW3, but the trains, routes, stations etc are all within the DLC

So if you get TSW3 and the Birmingham route when you login what you'll have is the Birmingham route and the 323.
The thing with TSW3 is if you then buy other routes, some of those trains may "layer" onto the routes you already own, for example with the Birmingham route if you then get the Great Western Express route DLC this will add on HST movements onto the Birmingham route. It won't work the other way round becuase the 323s don't run on GWE.

The same goes for any of the routes with a class 66, this can also layer onto Birmingham, as well as other routes in SEHS etc

    Hope this helps
