Can you still walk around and catch trains "On Foot", as it's now called "Free Roam" and I noticed there are no other trains around. I've also noticed I can't change red lights and set a path in Free Roam, as the map is just static. Am I missing something here?
Select your route, then Timetable, and then On Foot. This is the "Free Roam in Timetable mode", where there are AI trains, and you can spawn trains and drive them, or take over existing AI services, etc. If you select "Free Roam" for a route, you enter a sandbox mode, where the only trains on the route are whatever you spawn.
on foot and free roam are different things. on foot - timetable where you walk around and can ride trains as a passenger or take over a few services. spawning trains works here. free roam - empty map, useful for chaos without AI interrupting you. to get signals green you should've watched the preview stream on youtube. when you spawned a train and sit in it, open the map, select your vehicle, set path, select a destination, confirm.
you can spawn loco’s in either mode, the only difference between the modes is whether they’re is also Ai/scenic placed stock going about its business. Free Roam - No Ai On Foot/Timetable mode - Ai Present
Thanks, I just didn't know how to change the red lights on the path, as my map you could make changes.
Hey there, if you want to set a route, be it in timetable or Free Roam mode, you need to spawn a train > sit in the driver's seat > open the "9" map > click on your train > click "Set path" > click on where you would like to go The signaller will then change the signals for you. In Free Roam mode this will be instant, in timetable mode it might take a bit longer since AI trains need to be taken into consideration. Hope that helps, Jan
Another confusion I think people may encounter if I'm not mistaken, timetable entries within the journey mode don't allow free roam features either. This does make sense, but isn't an obvious distinction at first glance.
