I love Train Sim World, and seen as how I'm from Canada, I have a lot of fun playing on the North American maps. Although I own most North American DLC's, including the Oakville Subdivision DLC, I find the Oakville Subdivision DLC is lacking in content. I still have fun playing it, but it would be nice to see something similar to the Sand Patch Grade where you can go on a 2-3 hour journey.

My suggestion is, similar to the Sand Patch Grade DLC, make another Canadian DLC and base it in the Canadian Rockies, aka British Columbia. I believe it would make for some beautiful scenery and pretty challenging scenarios where you'll have to deal with all sorts of challenging weather conditions such as: Snow, Sleet, Fog, Rain, Ice, Smoke (there's a lot of wildfires annually), as well as having to deal with challenging up-hill and downhill grades. Maybe add in another CN (Canadian National) or CPKC (Canadian Pacific Kansas City) locomotive. The mountain scenery in all weather conditions would be a great addition.

All in all, Dovetail games makes great maps, and I've poured in many hours playing Train Sim World 3 and 4, and would love to see this game grow. Hopefully this suggestion gets heard and considered, but regardless, I'll still have fun playing it.

If you’ve not seen it, there’s a thread in the main forum where DTG have pretty much confirmed further North American heavy freight routes are in hiatus, unless a third party manages to do something. I agree though that a Canadian route would be awesome though my preference would be something historical when VIA still operated daily over both the Banff and Jasper lines.

    -Some Canadian route ideas:

-VIA Rail Quebec City-Windsor Corridor (often called the "Corridor"); 100mph (160km/h) speeds; GO Transit, Exo, CPKC, and CN trains operate on this route, too; only a small section of this route would be possible, since it is quite long; Toronto would be great, since the Canadian begins its westbound run there.

-CP/CPKC Kicking Horse Pass (same route as the TS Classic version); Spiral Tunnels are a cool inclusion for this route

    -CN Yellowhead Pass

-CN ex-DM&IR route; heavy iron ore trains in the Great Lakes area, plus some other freight; this has been suggested before

    -Some Canadian route ideas:

    -VIA Rail:
-Rebuilt F40PH-2Ds (for the Canadian passenger train)
    -P42DCs (for the Corridor route)
-Siemens SCV-42 Chargers and Venture Coaches (also for the Corridor route)
    -SW1000
    -RDCs

    -Exo:
    -F59PH/F59PHIs
    -ALP-45DPs
    -Siemens Chargers

    -GO Transit:
    -MP40PH-3C
    -MP54AC

    -CP Rail/CPKC:
    -ES44AC
-SD70ACU (including Military and special-liveried units)
    -SD40-2
    -GP38-2
-SD40-2F (Hydrogen Fuel Cell Version, too)
    -SD30C-ECO Rebuild
    -GP20C-ECO Rebuild
    -AC4400CW/AC4400CWM Rebuild
    -CPKC ET44AC
    -CPKC SD70MAC
-Royal Canadian Pacific with CP F9s

    -CN:
    -SD40-2(W)
    -SD60F
    -SD75I/SD75ACC
    -SD60I
    -SD70M-2
    -C40-8/C40-8W

Thanks for the response. I have not seen that, and I am a bit disappointed. For people who aren't into the passenger train stuff, heavy freight is definitely enjoyable for a lot of people. Could you link the forum post that suggests that? Am interested in their reasoning. Thanks.

Very nice proposal. Impressive mountain landscape and impressive northamerican freight trains. That's what I like so much.
