The Missabe sub would be a good route and would have many many things to do. The Missabe Sub (owned by Canadian National) Goes from the Far North town of Ely, Minnesota, down to Two Harbors Minnesota, where the line splits off and heads to Duluth, Minnesota. Other places on the Missabe Sub are the towns of Biwabik, Virginia, Chisholm, and Hibbing. All of which are mining towns (except Biwabik) The route would have MANY things to offer. Shunting in the big industrial area in Duluth, Taking Long and Heavy Ore trains from the Mines of Northern Minnesota and bringing them to the CN ore docks in Duluth and the BNSF dock in Superior Wisconsin for the ships that load at those docks would be pretty cool to see. The line is very historic and goes all the way back to the 1800s when Iron ore mining became very big in Minnesota. Both CN and BNSF have railyards on these subdivisions, the BNSF yard in Duluth and Superior, and the CN yard in Proctor Minnesota (which is a big choke point for iron ore cars to get sorted for the docks in Duluth). Overall, I'd like to see this come to Train Sim World as I think it would satisfy players and have lots to do. The locomotives you commonly see on these subdivisions include the CN 8-40cm, CN GP 38-2, CN Sd40T-2, CN Dash 8 and the CN and BNSF Sd40-2, BNSF and CN GEVO. The rollingstock you would see is the typical run of the mill freight trains (grain, manifest, autorack etc) and Iron ore and Limestone trains. This would be nice to see and overall would make a nice addition.
That would be a HUGE route and is why you won’t see it in TSW. Have you seen the average length of the routes in TSW? Maybe suggest a short section of the route that has the most interest.
I think this would be a great route to consider whenever they bring in steam locomotives as Duluth to Proctor's a very short but very notable bit for steam ops in the area. Would be a great way to have short range articulated ops as Yellowstone's did operate on there, albeit not as often as other types. Toss in a 2-8-0 for switching and a 0-10-2 for both main and switching ops and you'd have a pretty solid 50's era route I think. To offer a suggestion for modern ops though I would consider swapping BNSF for UP as they're also in the area, having a small yard just east. More importantly for what I'm suggesting they actually have trackage rights on BNSF's section. So you could still have fairly prototypical ops in the BNSF yard while still making it available for international customers. Perhaps you could even have a free BNSF skin pack included for US customers, so at least american players could have BNSF stock and locos alongside the UP stuff.
I hope there will be a local production team in the United States that will be responsible for the production of freight lines in the United States
The steam era version with DM&IR Yellowstones would be better. DM&IR in the 60s and 70s with diesel locos could be a great idea, too. I'd love to see some different American diesel engines in the game. I'd suggest an SW9, SD9 Cadillac, and Alco RSD15. An Alco C630 or SD38-2/SD38AC could be added later as DLC.
