I have resisted the lure of The Wherry Lines until now. I am a long fan of rural backwater railways. I love branch lines but I do like a bit of action and running one type of loco and one type of DMU backwards and forward doesn't appeal to me anymore than a high speed run from A-B. My interests lies in the shunting/switching hence my resistance to The Wherry Lines. However reading comments on the route and knowing of the semaphores I thought of the possibilities and the current sale caused me to "bite" the bullet. My thoughts were that it must be worth a go at backdating from 2007 to 1962ish - Green 37s, 31s, 105s, 101s, B1s, J15s, maybe a B12 (stretching it) and so it came to pass that..... I have in 2 hours cloned the original and de-electrified Norwich, turning the clock back almost 40 years. The buildings on the site of the former Norwich Thorpe engine shed and Yarmouth Vauxhall have been demolished, roads removed and the sites made ready for the coming (!) of the 1960s. Lowestoft will follow. I am not a complete Luddite and have allowed colour lights to remain (for now) as a sign of the "White Heat of Technology" (as someone once said). I hasten to add that this is solely for my own enjoyment and use. Has anyone else tried this? There must be other candidates.
Well done! If you like "period" routes, I'd highly recommend The West of Scotland Port Road route - plenty of semaphores as it is set in the steam/Green BR, out of the box. Weardale and Teesdale too. See also: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/routes-with-semaphore-signals.33128/
On Backdated Trainsim is the North London Line which also has had the OHLE removed and the route changed. https://backdatedtrainsim.weebly.com/north-london-lines-brnse.html
