Lots and lots of bugs, found my first one about two seconds into the game. can I just have a normal, bug-free release for once? (no).
anyway, here's the list so far (timestamped too)

    [11:23 AM]
    1. AC4400 gage lights and number lights do not function
    [11:24 AM]
    2. SD40-2 number lights appear on when headlights are turned on
    [11:24 AM]
    3. crossing gates at potash(I think??) do not light up (checked during route intro)
    [11:25 AM]
    4. random highway audio plays when spawning or switching cameras or just at random, even when no cars are present or when there are no roads in sight. it's also really really loud and glitchy.
    [11:25 AM]
    5. AC4400CW rides too high on the tracks (see the bent coupler?) 20210709121110_1.jpg
    [11:29 AM]
    6. crossing gates don't raise arms or shut off when no trains are present (or at least none I've seen)
    [11:33 AM]
    7. EOTD emergency switch glitches through it's cover on AC4400CW 20210709123320_1.jpg
    8. wheels don't make any noise when crossing track joints at high speed and are too quiet, barely audible, IRL they are really loud. (this only happens with the covered hopper cars and the AC4400CW, the open hoppers are fine for the most part)
    [11:45 AM]
    9. SD40-2 bell clapper is animated incorrectly, the top of the clapper moves, not the bottom (look at it and you'll see what I mean)
    [11:45 AM]
    10. AC4400CW bell clapper is broken, it doesn't move
    [11:46]
    11. many crossing gates have no audio
    12. handrails merge on the AC4400 20210709115052_1.jpg
    13. some mileposts have numbers sticking out the end like this
    [IMG]
    [12:08]
    14. loading saves doesn't save airbrake changes for AC4400CW (tested only on tank car set out scenario). there may be other problems as well, I would recommend doing some extensive tests.
    15. LDP-46 part one and two: one pair of AC4400CWs won't have any engine sound
    [12:25 PM]
16: AC4400CW reverser doesn't make noise when switching to and from the reverse position. sand, horn, and bell buttons don't make noise when pressed (sand, bell, and horn audio plays, just not the button noise)
    [12:26 PM]
17.when rendering in a AC4400CW, sometimes engine sounds will not spawn with it. fan audio still plays though.
    18. both AC4400CWs on LDP-46 part one have their control, engine run, and gen. field switches to on. only one of them should have the switches on, the other should be set up as a regular trailing loco.
    19. wheels and brakes on the rear truck of the AC4400CW don't move
    20. SD40-2 wiper movement is slow and glitchy
    [3:24 PM]
    21. SD40-2 floating throttle piece
    [3:25 PM]
    [3:26 PM]
    22. SD40-2 AC on the roof but no AC modeled inside on the roof of the cab like on the UP GP38-2
    [3:26 PM]
    23. SD40-2 manual wipe levers don't work unless wipers have been turned on at least once.
    24. AC4400CW: window texture glitches
    [IMG]

    thats all for now.

    I agree.
Very professional bug posting. If only people could use the search function and put all findings in one place like this instead of starting new thread after new thread.

I don't know if it was a glitch, but doing a scenario with AC4400, after I had to un-couple some tankers and returned to couple with the remaining hoppers, the loco wouldn't move forward. I checked the display for setup and it was fine. With all brakes released, I went to the trail loco and found that the main break was on full. I released it, returned to Lead, and then the loco would pull away.
What was that about? - and no, I never went to Emergency brake and yes 3 switches on Lead ON, 3 switches on trail OFF

I agree that the UP AC sits higher up than the CSX one. Must be the 4WD version, hahahaha

    <a href="https://ibb.co/N1Gr1tq"><img src="https://i.ibb.co/mvP0vbK/TSW2-UP-CSX-Height-Differences.png" alt="TSW2-UP-CSX-Height-Differences" border="0"></a>

    regards Tom

Crickey!! didnt even notice that the rear truck is back to front and that the wheels dont turn. Also the front wheels, while they turn, have some sort of reflection thing going on, on the tops of the wheels between the frames. Another weird thing??

I guess skyhook hasn't hired a pre release test and debug team yet.Who in the bleep thought releasing this route while it wasn't even close to fully finished.I don't care how bad any company need to make money, doing nonsence like this shows they don't deserve a dime from anyone here!

I could not agree with you more. I've been giving this quite a bit of thought lately and, while some may think that what I'm about to say is extreme, dramatic or over-the-top, I honestly think that those of us who are fed up with these constant bugs need to band together and just refuse to purchase any more DLC's until they fix as many of these problems as they can. To clarify, I'm saying "as many as they can" instead of "ALL of the problems" because some things may truly just be unfixable and I also like to leave some leeway for "the unknowns". If that's the case and they can't fix these specific complaints, then they can let us know.

Seriously, too many of us have been complaining about the shameful amount of bugs in this game for far too long (with only a small percentage of them getting corrected, by the way) but then we just give them more of our money again whenever a DLC is released. I'm not trying to make this some goofy movement or whatever, I'm only telling them that I'm fed up and here are my terms. If any of you feel the same way, do whatever you feel is best for you; if you're in disagreement with me, that's totally fine too -- it's your life and your money.

So, until this game and these routes get fixed, as well as ALL future DLC's being released in an acceptable state, I'm not spending another dime of my hard-earned money on them. I enjoy this game SO MUCH--I really do--but I have to stand by my principles. Anyway... that's PLENTY enough soapboxing from me.

There’s no need to band together and not buy any more DLC, everyone is free to do that themselves, individually. I think plenty of people will see the state of this DLC and decide not to buy it but the next DLC might be brilliant and have all trains at the correct height with wheels that spin. Good luck getting anyone to not buy that DLC because this one is pretty bad.

If people are in disagreement or they want to purchase the next DLC, that's fine -- I said this at the end of my second paragraph. What I'm trying to say is that it doesn't make sense TO ME or FOR ME to continue buying their DLC's when they have a track record of releasing buggy content and then either not fixing the majority of the problems or just abandoning them altogether for the next route. TSW2020 is a perfect example of this. Just because TSW2 was coming out doesn't mean that people didn't pay $40/£36 for the game, $30/£25 per route and $20/£16 per locomotive that were released and left buggy. Regardless of that fact, DTG abandoned the game and said that no further work would be done on this game. Just a quick sidestep: I'd honestly prefer they take their time on the route or loco and get it right the first time instead of rushing it out, either because of the demand for it or just to make a quick buck.

Also, the only reason I brought up that people might need to band together is because it seems like people's issues and complaints are only taken seriously when a good portion of their (meaning DTG) cash inflow drops to unexpected levels. Money talks and people CAN and DO make changes with their wallets -- that's the beauty of capitalism and consumerism.

I take no issue with what you've said and I completely agree that people can do as they please -- I tried to make that very clear in my original post. But, to me, it doesn't make sense to complain about bug after bug and glitch after glitch but still continue to buy their products. This is more of a rhetorical question, but if you bought food from a restaurant and the service or food quality was not up to par, does it make sense to continue ordering food from there? That's my main point in a nutshell: if you're unhappy with the service provided that you've paid for, put your money where your mouth is and make changes happen.

Not buying anything until there are several substantial bugfixes is exactly what I'm doing. I even stopped updating TSW because there was no content I'm currently interested in. And, to be honest, I don't expect RH to be any better at release. It's such a shame!

LDP part 1 has a problem once switching to the other locomotive as instructed and when you sit down the scenario ends due to a derailment.

Quite the list of bugs. The total bug list just keeps getting bigger and bigger. DTG has no hope of ever sorting them all as it allows too many out the door in the first place. It is getting rather quite annoying now.

The really sad fact is one would think skyhook would have wanted there 1st tsw2 dlc route to release with them putting there best effort into it.With only a few minor issues here and there but for some reason they couldn't even manage that.Tsw2 players would be lined up ready to buy every dlc moment of release but as it stands more and more are holding back knowing that it's no longer worth it to buy the newest "pre broken" dlc, some are waiting for it to be fixed or waiting for a sale(xbox owners are still waiting and waiting and more waiting, you get the point). If ever there was a need for another train sim game option to be made available for us,it's continuing issues like this that might cause it.

Note I'm aware that dtg do try and fix the problems but when they do they also brake things that where not broken while doing it.It just a lose/lose proposition for all of us train fans.If only dtg who say they love trains, cared as much about there products quality as the consumers who want to buy it.

I really wanted to buy this route on day 1, as it looked really promising. But the ugly trackside and all the reports about bugs makes me not buy it now. Really hope it gets some bugfixes soon, maybe then I'll get it.

I'm sure it's just another 'floating textures' issue but when you press '8' for free roam camera while travelling in the tunnel, you get the following funky graphics:

Dearie me, there do seem to be an inordinate number of bugs and glitches in this release. You would think some of them, at least, would have been caught during testing or beta. I mean, after all, trucks and gauge lights are so basic. I have the route, but haven't played it yet. Now, when I play it, I'll be looking for these problems and it will take the shine off for sure, though I expect I'll get enough gameplay to make it worthwhile. What is striking is the length of time this route has been in development, must be most of a year and yet there are still myriad problems? Go figure.
Nevertheless, I'll still be looking forward to "Rush Hour" and will certainly buy it on release. We know DTG are quite capable of putting out excellent material and I'm counting on them to come through with BML and NEC.

When it comes to the next big release"RUSH HOUR"I beginning to fear it's name may prove to have more then one meaning.I'm sure some of you can figure what that is,without having to ponder to hard.

To be fair, I don‘t know what gauge lights would even do on the real AC44 since it‘s all MFDs anyway.

A simple click on the "like" button is not sufficient in this case. This is exactly what i have mentioned prior the release of CCC, and i fully agree with this post. My main concern is that i simply dont know when and if a reported problem will be fixed. The is no interface where it can be observed. A Tech Report Section with >5000 discussions and 26.000 messeages does not help at all. I quit buying DLC a month ago and will enjoy what is left from older working DLC´s.

As someone has mentioned elsewhere in the forums, the gameplay isn't broken and can be fully enjoyed. The route is not BAD.
But, anything that MAY detract from realism/immersion while playing, should be documented.

I'm reasonably new around here and certainly don't want to trash DTG or any of their other developers, because overall, TSW2 is a very good product! I just tend to swing from glass half full, to glass half empty. :)

It's unfortunate that one of my most liked comments is about something negative within the game instead of something positive, but I appreciate the support all the same. I do agree with you -- they need to have a revamped system put in place for bugs and complaints. I've thought about this a bit too and my suggestion for it would be that you would put in your complaint, you'd get a ticket acknowledging your discovery of a bug, and then that complaint would go to a dedicated section to where you can see the progress on it live. That way people can see what bugs have already been listed so that they don't clog up the "complaint ticket" section with multiple posting. They can see what's being worked on at the moment, what's coming up, and what's actually finished with their own eyes in real time.

I get that I'm basically describing some of the principles of their Roadmap posts, but I'm specifically concerned more with people seeing that their posts are acknowledged and also people having a place where they can see, in real time, what's being worked on at that moment.

Now, if DTG were to implement something like this into their dedicated forum or somewhere else, those people who CREATED a ticket need to be PATIENT. I'm not saying anyone here has done this, but over the 2 1/2 years I've been on this forum I've noticed that there are some people who like to nitpick and complain and find any and every little fault with the game JUST for the sake of complaining, and those are the kinds of people who would ruin this potential idea. These kinds of things take time, especially for a small-ish studio like DTG, so people would need to understand that and also trust that DTG IS concerned about their post and that they ARE working on it. Maybe this is cynical of me (it probably is), but I'm afraid that DTG have gotten to the point to where they've received so many complaints and bug reports that they just dismiss the majority of them 'cause they know that a dedicated number of people are going to buy whatever they sell everytime. Giving any company that much power is a slippery slope... And all of this is coming from a conservative-leaning, pro-capitalism "American pig". LOL! Sorry, I had to lighten the mood a bit.

It´s a shame that i am not a native speaker. This is exactly what i mean. Thank you. In the mean time i have received a first response from DTG. And no, it is not what i have expected. I will pause TSW2 for a while, to avoid further frustration and the total loss of interest. TSW2 has definitely some nice routes and locomotives to enjoy. (...and nothing to complain about).

For a non-native English speaking person, I'd say you've done a very good job of conveying your message. I'm sorry to hear that your response from DTG was unsatisfactory but also expected. I haven't 100% given up on them yet (I'm sure being a small studio focused on a niche genre in the tail-end of a pandemic is quite stressful), but something DOES need to be done about the way they design routes/locos and also the way that they handle bug reports.

    25. the "zero distance" function on the IFD doesn't clear the distance counter (to the right of the speedometer) until you press the count distance button.only affects the secondman's screen and the second driver's screen. the first screen works fine. 20210710164634_1.jpg 20210710164803_1.jpg

    27. Dynamic brakes become more effective as the train's speed gets slower. should be the opposite or at least according to the DTG brake tutorial
28: road render distance should be increased if possible. same with littler rocks although that might severely affect framerates 20210711083855_1.jpg

31: the loader fills all three hopper bays at once even though it should only fill one at a time based on where the loader is.
32: DPU AC4400CW doesn't give EOTD info on the IFD of the lead loco, by my experience it should. I could be wrong though.

Sorry, my bad. I think TSW2 is not bad at all. It has potential, and there are routes/locos which are almost flawless and nothing to complain about. Others are gathering dust on the hard drive and i am afraid it will stay that way. Or better: we do not know, and that annoys me.

Yep. Same here. I've done it 3 times...same result. They'll get it fixed right? the route is very nice. I drove through Utah on a family vacay and I was watching the trains thinking this would be great on TSW! Good Job there DTG! Now make it work.

There is a non game play bug at Cooper Ridge. However they get the cars to run, it seems to have gone wrong here. it's fun to watch it happen...

Just to add - the pictures above are of the same car. first it heads left, does a 180 turn and heads right. it then somersaults and heads off left again. It's worth spending 2 mins there to watch it happen! :)

I think the issue here is they used the same road to create a four lane highway which is wrong for the US, a four lane highway should be divided by a double yellow line, and the lanes in each direction should be a dotted white line. Which could explain why cars are driving the wrong direction. As for them sinking into the ground is just amusing but also very wrong.

Making everything as realistic as possible is an important part of authenticity, but I've also been called nitpicky when I talked about cars and their representation in the game. It felt like "this game is about railways and we don't care much about cars on the road" ...
Apparently the graphic designer also favours this approach. :D

I just don't understand the absolute glee that some folks seem to derive from spending so much time hunting for and documenting minutia that they can complain about, but I suppose that this habit falls under "misery loves [and seeks] company". Of course, I'm also the fellow who just pointed out the "loaded wagons" error in a session; so I owe myself a kick in the pants. Consider that done.

The issue is, most people aren't doing what you state ie "hunting for...".
If you play the game for many hours, these are really big problems that need to be addressed.
I've no idea how many of these are making it to report tickets via Kayako, so I'm just collating what has been found and noted. Hopefully the tech dept. will read this.

Don't you want a better game without these issues?
Well, they won't get fixed unless we see (or find) them and then report them. :|
...or should I say "There's no chance of them EVER getting fixed if we don't report them" ? ;) :D

    P.S.
I own all of TSW2 and about half of TSW2020. Plus a multitude of TS-2021, so I am not 'anti' DTG, I'm just a perfectionist, my OCD.
Oh lasttraintoclarksville, I never thought you were 'digging' at my post either. x

So you're the other one who owns all of it? Actually, I'm one shy - I don't have LGV.

    Hehehe

Yes, I've just started playing the scenarios on this route and I noticed the incorrect lane markings immediately. There are two double yellows, one in each direction. It's not a game breaker of course, but it is distracting to me at least, because the highway is right alongside the track for miles. And it's such an elementary mistake, any American or Canadian could have spotted that in beta, surely.

And, by the way, I do not "hunt" for these things, some errors are immediately obvious. I take no pleasure in pointing them out.

I found a new bug. When the new UP straight-side covered hopper is the last car, the EOT is in the wrong place. It’s hanging from the middle hopper bay like the problem with the CSX hoppers from the C40-8 add on.

Saw this as well just yesterday on PS5. Seems Skyhook were unaware they need to tell the car model where to put the EoTD.

On a positive note though, it was said that the Epic build already has some Cane Creek fixes in it, so we can look forward to that when Rush Hour comes along.

At the expense of a little thread bump, could DTG aka TrainSim-Matt give us some feedback on whether or not Skyhook have received these bug reports, and/or, whether or not we will see a fix during rush hour?

    Thanks.

The only bug fix officially announced on stream was an audio fix (maybe those annoying traffic bursts), but other fixes for the route were hinted at. I think you can safely assume that Skyhook have seen the bug reports and feedback.
