Hello everyone, upon thinking about this thread https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/gp38-2-on-cane-creek.38977/#post-294671 where we talk about the Peninsula Corridor GP38-2 possibly layering into the Cane Creek timetable, I thought, why not reverse it? Why shouldn’t we be able to use the AC4400CW and SD40-2 on Peninsula Corridor? I mean, the GEs and SDs could run the mainline services too, and the SD40-2 could also operate switching duties in the yards. What are your thoughts?

Don't know if the AC4400CW would fit the freight services we have on Penninsula, but I could see the SD-40-2 there.

Problem would be finding services for them to do, Union Pacific no longer sends mainline freight down the coast line, so the AC4400CW would be very hard to fit into a schedule (Not impossible, as they have been seen in SSF in the past). Not sure what services they actually run out there (Maybe a SSF to Oakland run?) via Martinez.

The SD40-2's I believe usually make a run from a rock quarry between Watsonville and Gilroy into the bay area.

The existing services with the GP38-2 that have you run down the line to a certain point could be substituted with the AC4400CW, although I don’t know if they normally go as far as pier 96. If this route is set in the days when UP did run mainline freight (or in its final days) while still keeping the realism of the route (MP36s weren’t around in 1999) then it would be appropriate for the AC4400CW to run on the line.

It would be nice. The US routes also deservse some layering.
