Good evening, I am trying to cook a test scenario I have written to get a feel for the whole process, being new to TSW5. Please see the output log attached. My Editor uses the TrainsimCZ mod version 2.1.1

The scenario is called Test_6K27 and uses the Fife Circle route. The train is formed of a DB Class 66 with HKA wagons, no AI trains. Simple start and finish.

References to map tiles and not being able to resolve connected ribbon refs have me stumped.

Any help would be much appreciated.

The problem is the Automation Tool is being blocked. You can either unblock it & associated files using either method quoted below. Or you can update to TSW Editor Tools 2.3, Train Simulators (trainsim.cz) (if you go the update route which I recommend, move your plugins out of the editor, uninstall the editor, reinstall the editor, install 2.3 and move your plugins back into the editor).

Also since your are working on a scenario, make sure you do not have DataTracks connected to your scenario (only needed for timetables).

Thank you for the suggestion CFTFC.

I have uninstalled and re-installed the editor, added tools version 2.3, run the editor, closed it and dumped the scenario plugin into the editor file system, then tried to pack it.

I now get many "...[rolling stock and route DLC asset] is being referenced by the DLC!" error messages. I get the feeling it is something straightforward that I haven't done as part of the plugin import or cooking process.

There is also still the "unable to resolve connected ribbon ref:..." errors.

Also 'Track marker unconnected ranges' errors.

Log file is attached. Note I lost the original 6G27 test scenario so I wrote another, it is totally identical.

First off have you tried playing your scenario in the Editor (Play in Editor PIE) to make sure it works. Right click your scenario timetable and click Set as Play in Editor timetable. Then right click scenario definition and click Set as Play in Editor scenario. Finally click the Play button on the ribbon and wait till PIE loads (it will take some time). You'll need to right click the scenario definition again if you want to play the scenario again as this resets the scenario.

Those errors are normal as the editor is trying to use cooked assets which it doesn't have control over. It won't affect the cooking.

Excellent. Looking at your Log file, I do not see a ContentManifest file. You have to create one (or copy one from another plugin) and add your scenario definition in the Defined Scenarios section (remove all other content if you copied in from another plugin and Defined Timetables PC should be 0 Array elements).

Content Manifest file is created, looks as per the screenshot. Re-attempted to cook, still failed. Log also attached.

Also, if you leave the PC Editor then re-open it to have another go, is it essential to reload the route map, set PIE mode for the scenario, before attempting to cook?

Thanks again for your perseverance in helping me, CFTFC.

Log looks fine with one exception which I'll get to in a minute. The cook will almost always fail due to the previously discussed errors. It should still have cooked your files ready to be packaged. If you go to your plugin in Windows Explorer there should be a new folder below the Content & Resources called Saved. Go through this folder and if you see all of your files are there. If so then you are good to package.

Click the Distribute button on the ribbon. Click Add plugin and select your plugin. Check Original plugin and TSW5 plugin. Finally click Distribute button and wait for success message to pop up. Find your pak file it the Editor folder and copy to TSW5 DLC folder. Open game to make sure everything works.

Back to the log, the only thing I would suggest is it looks like you are using a formation located in the HKA Gameplay plugin. This can cause problems. I would copy the formation file to your plugin. Open the formation file and see what it is referencing under the Train Entry sections. If you see RVDs then you are good. If not show me a pic as I don't own that DLC.

You don't need to load the map or the scenario to cook. You only need the map if you are making changes the timetable. No need to set PIE unless you are planning to play the scenario in the PIE. You can set the Editor to reload your map for you. Click Edit on the menu bar, Editor Preferences... Click Loading & Saving and finally change Load Level at Startup to Last Opened.

I was able to 'distribute' the .pak file and copy it as suggested, but when I opened the scenario in the main game there was no train to drive.

I copied the formation across (Class 66 + 14 HKA Loaded) and there are some 'FRM' prefixed elements (see screenshot).

Perhaps if I made my own formation from scratch rather than use the pre-made formation it would circumvent the FRM inclusion if that is part of the problem - or find a pre-made formation that exclusively contains RVDs.

EDIT: I checked the formation when I selected it in the timetable, and it does only show RVDs for some reason.

The timetable will always show the full formation. You can either create a custom formation or delete the 3 FRM_EMK_HKA entries (click the little down arrow on the right and click delete for each one), or double the first FRM_EMK_HKA then click the magnifying glass to see where it takes you (copy this formation to your plugin and update the 3 entries in Class 66 + 14 HKA Loaded with the new location so if you hit the magnifying glass it will take it to your plugin).
