About The Capitol Corridor is a 168-mile (270 km) passenger train route in Northern California operated by Amtrak between San Jose, in the Bay Area, and Auburn, in the Sacramento Valley. The route is named after the two points most trains operate between, San Jose (which hosted the first state capital of California) and Sacramento (which currently hosts the California State Capitol) There are 15 round trips per day. This line is jointly owned by Union Pacific and Caltrain. This service is operated by Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority, in partnership with Amtrak and Caltrans. I like my routes to be a decent length, add a branch. In all seriousness, who is going to drive a train for three hours straight and it's far too long to produce in the next 5 years alone
Quite an unrealistic proposal, route length is too long, and way too much content. Not to mention the San Joaquin doesn't travel from Oakland to Sacramento, it goes from Oakland to Martinez, before heading to Stockton. The Amtrak California Dash 8s rarely run in their trains anymore, they are mostly stuck to yard work, not to mention there are only 2 of them.
I do agree that it is a bit long im just msking a general suggestion, as for driving a train for 3 hours i also agree that it would be too long an option would be to set up the time table to use split up the route between drivers for different zones though i dont know how they do it in the us.
This is a general suggestion all im posting is about the route and what could be included i'm making no dammands. I know the full length and all the rollingstock would be unlikely to happen just showing what runs on the route. All so read the suggestion for san josquin propley im saying where on the section the routes are shared
Another possibility for this route is setting the route in the 1950s-60s with SP trains. Loco ideas for the SP version would be an FM Trainmaster, SDP45, GP7/9, SD7/9, and/or GP20. WP and ATSF could be seen as well in the area, so WP and ATSF diesels could be added later as DLC. As for UP in the modern day, a GP60, GP40-2, or 3GS21B Genset and either an SD70M, SD70ACe/SD70AH, C45AH (UP ET44AC), C45ACCTE (UP ES44AC), or SD70AH-T4 could be included for freight services. I'd prefer the Siemens Charger for the main passenger trains and the 2 P32-8BWHs used by Amtrak California in switching services.
