The level crossing at the indicated location (about 3 miles from Barstow) is not closed, car traffic just proceeds with dramatic results. Another level crossing, here the car stops, but the crossing is open. I checked some more, I have seen more level crossings that stay open. This one works fine, but the warning lights are not working when closed (I cannot show that of course, but I waited to see if it would open again and yes it does).
