DTG requires a loco to be included on all wagon packs, hence another Class 66.

I'm no expert but if more services can be added to WCML South for this, where are the other missing services for that route that were promised (class 87, static stock etc)?

They're probably using these as a testing ground to see how many more they can add.

 

Good value tbh. However, I will probably mostly enjoy this from the view of other trains, as I just don’t like the in-game 66 much

Your not buying a 66, your buying the wagons and gameplay.

DTG stipulates that a DLC must be self contained, therefore a locomotive must be included.

Also the 66 is realistic for these services.

 

The official DTG timetable is still missing layers that Matt Peddlesden said would come, at the back end of 2024. They never did. and it was confirmed by DTG Harry that won't get them now. WCMLs is a big turd that DTG released and swept under the carpet!

Another case of the US$ price being inflated by using incorrect exchange rate. Price should be around $13. And we have to add sales tax. Somebody's making money.

 

The idiotic policy about Class 66 is starting to get tiresome, leave this Shed alone and give us already a new freight locomotive!!

 

About time 20ft containers came to the game along with proper length trains!
Presumably the 66 bundled with the pack has the grunt to pull prototypical length intermodals. I know the existing 66’s cant do it!

 

Skyhook have already said that they tried unsuccessfully to gain access to a class 60. Unless someone on this forum can matchmake with a ToC that operates a 60 we’ll never get it!

 

I would love that, really enjoyed the showcase of the 158 as well.

 

Not sure if it’s mentioned above, but this pack will also add services / layers to the MML at some point in the future - which is massively needed. There’s only ai intermodals’ on MML in scenarios currently!

 

I'll get it because of the new scenarios/timetables, but I prefer passenger services over freight.

 

I always see these sort of wagons being hauled by a Class 66.

They're usually in EWS or DB livery as well. So, entirely realistic in this case.

The wagons look awesome and will probably add variety along the way. I do wonder if they finally fixed Simugraph for the bundled Class 66? The 66's that we already have still pump insane amps in notch 1 and are undrivable in winter conditions. Only the old DB Schenker from GWR is correct sadly. Cheers

 

We are getting there with freight train lengths, up from the short 20 wagons presently in game, typical intermodal length is 30.
However here are some incorrect services:
WCML
6O71: Daventry to Dollands Moor is the empty water train (bottled mineral water from France) using Cargowaggons it's not an intermodal service.
4M75: Tilbury to Daventry use IKA wagons (Megafrets) carrying 45 foot Tesco containers, not shipping containers. This service uses a DRS Class 66 locomotive.

ECML
6L55 Tinsley Yard to Ripple Lane is not an intermodal service.
0E04 Whitemoor Yard to Doncaster Up Decoy is a light GBRF loco not an intermodal service the clue is the 0. Also Whitemoor yard is a Network rail site.

Very little intermodal traffic goes directly between Peterborough and Doncaster along the ECML. The majority turn off the ECML just north of Peterbrough and go via Spalding and Lincoln and come back onto the ECML just south of Doncaster. I would not have bothered doing freight services for this route. On the brightside these freight services are not as bad as the Mildmay Line ones.

 

Yes. Skyhook have said they will add additional services to MML with this pack later in the Summer.

 

This information makes me think that Skyhook may offer us an MML expansion in the summer.

I really don't get this, and it's actually a bit frustrating as someone fairly new to train sims. There's been more than one route I would not have purchased had I listened to the loudest voices in the community, and I would've missed out on a lot of really fun driving. Thankfully, I'm contrary as hell.

I do wonder if, sometimes, DTG listens to these folks too much, given that some of their reasons for not doing certain routes or trains seems to be rooted in the type of complaints you hear from the hypercritical types.

 

One thing I haven't seen anyone point out yet is that none of the listed services are actually new, they are all existing services on the ECML and WCML timetables. The scenarios are 100% new but you can play all of these services right now if you wanted to with the FKA's. A little disappointing I must say.

The previous volumes of cargo line both added new services, so wtf??

I'd love to hear some confirmation from Skyhook or DTG.

No new services means this goes from day-one to wait for a clearance sale if ever.

 

Good spot. This needs to be clearly stated in the blurb from now on in order for it not to misrepresent what these services are. Anyone reading the list now would reasonably think these are new services and not duplicates. I did. I suppose it makes sense that they are just substitutions because of the level of container traffic on the routes already. I don’t know if they are trying to be sneaky here by not mentioning it or if it is an oversight but it really needs to be clear that they aren’t new services. It also means the pack can remain on the shelf as far as I’m concerned. Once it is discounted to a price point that reflects the actual new gameplay it comes with, which is just scenarios, I’ll buy it. The devs can regard this as a yellow card and a cancelled plan to purchase from me. It was already a tough sell with it being a Class 66 and containers that I already have but now it feels even more like they’re trying to sell me a pair of trousers they’ve just nicked off my washing line by listing all those services as if they’re new.

Can you bring anything to the table, in terms of the Cargo Line Vol:3 Timetable Services being substitutions, and not new services?

 

That is a shame, Maybe that's partially to do with the state of WCMLS? But even then no new services on ECML is surprising

 

It's worth a punt purely for the Ai. Something different to look at I guess.

 

The price is fair but as said previously, not feeling the love for more Class 66 action on existing routes.

 

I've got no love for them, can't even bring myself to drive them anymore!

What other traction hauls these services these days?

Friend just told me about this Thread.
Very excited for this, but skyhook can add more AI to this route, yet you got Railtours missing the 390 services missing. Not sure how it works but just weird ain't it.

 

If you look further up in the thread you will see that there are no new services added by this pack, they are all existing services that the new wagons can substitute into. No new AI added at all by the looks of it.

 

Intermodal also needs a route with terminal operations, Southampton MCT and Millbrook at least to Oxford perhaps,or something out of Felixstowe.

It does seem like the 66 is doomed same as the Rivet 204 for physics. Something is certainly wrong when the age old GWE and ECW 66s are still the only remotely working ones.

 

Would have been nice to get an expert class 66 by now. Like if you’re going to make us reuse the 66 constantly at least make it fun and more immersive. It’s becoming a joke now.
