Train Sim World 3 Cars For Crew Relief And Spotting, Exploring Collectables Etc

Discussion in 'Suggestions' started by SD40Australia, Aug 9, 2023.

  1. I was on Cajon Pass today and loving it. But I thought it would be great to have a car (Sherman Hill as well) so we can explore the route. Learn the route and signals etc. And find collectables more easily.

Already a car exists in the Christmas pack.

Also will make for some more interesting scenarios where you have to drive to your train and meet it. to relieve the crew.

As some of us like to do spotting and photographs/screenshots, a car would help us reach those locations.

Not asking for a specific make and model. Just a Ute or SUV that is non branded and has automatic gears with headlights we can drive it and get to where we want to go.

Would also make for some interesting extras in Train Sim World. Secrets, easter eggs, surprises, scenarios, and puzzles even!

Can the Jeep in the Christmas pack be used on all the routes?

And how good would it be in steam routes such as Peak Forest where we have older vehicles.

Again not asking for Forzo Horizon perfection, just something easy to drive (if we can hook up steering wheels-nie!) and maybe similar to Codemasters Arma.

This is a neat suggestion but a lot of passenger routes have the roads abruptly end or have no scenery so it can be a little problematic for that but otherwise great suggestion.

This would require the development of a robust road system in the game and I doubt DTG would ever consider that a priority in their train simulator.

Considering most of the AI cars float about 3 feet off the ground, and have no wheel animations, or physics. I don't really see this being likely.
They'd have to develop it from scratch, and spend time ensuring the roads were done properly, which is less time on every route spent on the traintracks.

Too much effort for too little benefit. That development time is best used on the actual simulator.

The God mode mod allows you to spawn the Xmas jeep on any map, though using it shows that it doesn't really work on maps cause of all the invisible walls you hit while driving around.
