I believe this is my second or 3rd time requesting this route, and 2 years later here goes nothing . (CP series 3150 EMU) Welcome to the Cascais line running from Cascais (A small/medium city located on the Atlantic coast of Portugal and part of the Lisbon district) to Cais do Sodré one of the most important train stations in Lisbon linking commuters to the Lisbon Metro lines, the extensive tram and bus systems throughout the city and ferries that transport people across the river Tejo along side the famous bridge 25 de Abril; iconic to Lisbon, calling at 17 stations. The line runs for about 25 KM, it was the first line to be electrified in the country and the second busiest railway in Portugal with the Lisbon Metro underground lines coming in first. It runs on 1500 V of electrification making this route unique to the rest of the Portuguese railways, which makes these trains only able to operate on this line. The trains even though they don't look like it they are almost 70 years old although they have been thoroughly modernized and remodeled in the late 90's to early 2000's with the carriages remaining the same. This line has trains operate on 3 different services. The first and most common being the All-stations train, calling at all stations between Cascais and Cais do Sodré. The second are the Semi-rapid trains calling at all stations between Cascais to Oeiras and proceeding to Cais do Sodré only stopping at Algés and Alcantara Mar. The third service calls at all stations between Oeiras and Cais do Sodré, and these trains run all day between the hours of 5:30AM and 1:30AM with an average train every 20 minutes (12 Minutes during rush hour). (Coach picture taken by Me) The CP series 3150/3250 EMU are very LARGE and spacious trains and not to mention VERY loud even when inside, most likely due to the age of the rail tracks (attaching videos with sounds below) although they do deserve credit because despite their flaws, they are still very comfortable to ride. This is in my personal opinion one of the, if not the most beautiful train line in the country as it travels almost it's entire length along side the ocean and river Tejo when coming closer to Lisbon making stops at stations in major suburban areas. (Cab picture taken by Me) This is the trains cab. The maximum line speed on this railway is 90 KMH which is also the maximum permitted speed for these trains. I will include a cab video of the entire route that I picked up on YouTube from 2003. Just for reference the two round indicators on the very left side are the break and air indicators (These trains use air brakes) the display with several colored squares one of them being lit is a faults display that indicates faults within the train. The first white display is the Voltage display sitting at 1500, the middle is the power display (how much power is being applied to the traction motors) and lastly as you may have guessed the speed display. The large lever on the right hand side is the power handle with 3 power notch positions and the reverser hiding behind it although you can slightly see the reverser key behind it that is currently removed. and the other smaller handle on the left hand side of the cab is the break handle producing a rather loud air sound when pushed towards the driver when applying the breaks that you will hear in the videos. Anyways that is all I have to say in regards to this route. TSW community let's make this thread viral so it catches the eyes of the developers it is the perfect route especially for those who enjoy stop and go networker trains with several stations to pick up passengers at, in a country never before produced by DTG which is the beautiful Portugal. I hope you enjoy the videos!!! LINHA DE CASCAIS: Cab Ride Completa: Cais do Sodré - Cascais em 2003 com CP UQE 3150/3250. HD 720p. - YouTube
