Here's a pretty silly thread for a slow morning when a storm has closed most things down around here. If you were cast away on a desert island, which 3 routes/ loco would you take with you. ( you'll have the core game due to some miraculous ocean current.) Mine would be SPG, BPE and PBO
BPO, NTP and MML. No thought needed. Would then only be missing TVL from my top five as ECML would come with the core game due to that miraculous current.
1: London Commuter (So much versatility and the general rush from that route is just unmatched) 2: Cathcart Circle (The recent remaster just made it so good) 3: Class 158 (It's my local train which I see all the time so it would be dishonest of me not to want it)
BML, BPO & Bremen Assuming we can have layers? If not, BML, BPO & SEHS. If you would allow me to complicate this further & include future routes then I’ll say WCMLS, WCMLOS & BPO.
None, because the desert Island probably won't have power and your PC or console would probably be wet
There seems to be a trend developing, admittedly with one anomaly. Edit: and one smart LOVE (male chicken) in the corner! Edit 2: Oh never realised it replaced cockerel without the erel with the word love.
Hmm... probably SEHS, Dresden Riesa... and then I'd be hard pressed between SPG or BPE. Probably SPG though. I haven't played it in ages but it definitely got the most hours from me. I loved it so much I even went there in person and stayed at the Ramada hotel that's in the game right next to the tracks in Cumberland. The only problem with just 3 DLC is we'd also lose a lot of layers, lol.
If I was on a desert island I wouldn’t have access to the internet or a laptop. Instead i’d be trying to survive by hunting wild boar or spear fishing. Is that a soccer/football ball floating towards me? WILSON!
And there it is, the Wilson reference the question would be what train route would you call the ball, GWE? WCML? That would be about as close you are going to get to a train sim on a desert island.
I’m surprised I was the first to mention it. That’s an easy choice. GWE (The Wilson Express) for me. Maybe add some coconuts too and pretend they’re the carriages
BPO would only be worth having with the layers though... For the UK probably NTP actually. Germany - Dresden to Riesa. US probably SPG.
I suppose I’d have to go with: - LIRR Commuter (so many branches! so much traffic!) - Southeastern High Speed (would be a shame not having the Class 700 on me but it’s still an amazing route without) - Sherman Hill (I like Sherman Hill)
Salzburg-Rosenheim (because of Salzburg, Freilassing and the BR 111) Linke Rheinstrecke (because of the 103 and the rhine) Semmeingbahn (because of the 1116 and the Bmzs)
