Everything I have read talks about the "perfect cast". Which appears to mean "the longest cast possible". There's never a mention of accuracy or distance. With the PS4 controller, when doing an overhead cast I always end up launching it in the bushes on the other side of the lake. It goes waaaaay too far. Even holding R2 to hold the line can't slow it down. I don't know if I would call that a perfect cast. How are you supposed to make a shorter cast? The only way I have been able to achieve a shorter cast is to purposely cast poorly and have it smack down hard somewhere in front of me with no accuracy. Any help from someone who has this figured out would be appreciated.
