I have just bought The Fife Circle Line in the sale, I have knocked down lot's of passengers wondering around on the track at stations (It's not Hogmaney yet). is it my driving or has anyone else done the same. Mike
I just bought it with TS 2021 Deluxe (so that I could get the WCML South). I have not run over any passengers yet, but I really hate seeing the 2D cardboard buildings at one of the station. I can't believe they approved of this. I did have a passenger issue on another route the other day. As I was pulling into a station, a passenger walked right off the platform onto the tracks. I blared my horn and tripped the emergency brake. Oblivious to all this, the passenger just kept walking and disappeared. LOL
I've noticed a metric ton of stray passengers as of late. Something with TS 2021 may have broken it. NJCL, München-Garmisch for sure.
A lot of my AI passengers seem to be dressed as if it's 1950, no matter what route or scenario I play LOL. TBH, I wish DTG would just get rid of the passengers. They look LOVE... they're badly animated, and are just annoying.
Instead of them wandering around we could do with more static passengers, sitting, reading or checking their phone And they should animate when a train has stopped they way they do now
At least it sort of adds a bit more realism at times. The incident I was referring to looked more real as the passenger was not floating like they usually do. They were on track level. Tripped me out and I had to react as I suppose a real operator would. Good thing I was approaching at a slow speed and the emergency brakes stopped me just shy of the passenger. LOL Most the time they float and appear in places that do not look possible, like through a platform floor. The more I use Train Simulator, despite the quirks and flaws, the more I love it. WCML South is a fantastic route.
The way some of them seem to almost ‘moonwalk’ looks weird. I wish there was a bit more variety in characters too: one platform had three of the same woman in the same area. (Speaking of which, it’s also amazing how many catwalk models seem to populate station platforms, by the way!) AI is good at populating the route with period appropriate trains: perhaps they could do the same with the passengers, as a 1950s steam era station doesn’t look quite the same with modern women in jeans. The ‘ghosts of Simulators past’?
I noticed the moonwalk and the catwalk. Ha ha. It cracks me up watching the passengers in this game. I was watching a video for another sim, I think it was Trainz, and I saw the passengers on the platform and thought to myself, "wow, they have a variety of people" then I noticed the same book-reading woman all over the platform... like every 3 or 4 people.
Besides the iPod girl in 1950, my favorite is the man who reads the news (and the people in shorts and stuff) in a hailstorm.
