Hello, I'm curious as to how cross play works for the new Nintendo Switch console version of Catan. I've tried playing on an Xbox Series X, with someone who has the game on Nintendo Switch, and we cannot connect. I've noticed that A LOT of people are having issues with cross play (regardless of the console), and the consensus amongst most people is that you cannot actually play cross play with your friends, you can only join public lobbies and play cross play with random people. We purchased the game on Nintendo, because it said that Cross Play was indeed enabled for all consoles. But I haven't been able to find anything online about how to actually make it work. I have enabled Cross Play on the Nintendo Switch, however on the Xbox, there is no "enable" function in the game settings, so i'm assuming it's just always on (I read that for the Playstation and Nintendo versions specifically, you have to "enable cross play" in the settings). We've tried creating a uniquely named lobby/room using each console, and joining that room with the other one using that unique name, but it just keeps creating a new lobby everytime (it never joins). What am I missing? I've scoured the internet and these forums looking for an answer to this issue, but I have thus far been unsuccessful. When we try to "invite friends," it only ever shows our Nintendo friends or Xbox friends respectively, depending on which console is trying to invite. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Any update on the fix? Say there was an update this morning that fixed crossplay between switch and other consoles but still not working!

Hey dtg, So when you go to online to play with friends you can join public queue and can join with other platforms. But when you click join private game and enter the room name your friends gave you, it creates a new room and can’t join my friends game that is on the switch. I am on xbox, we have a switch in house and neither one of us can connect to eachothers game.
Hi there, we just double checked this and it works fine. One thing to be aware of is Lobby names are case sensitive, Switch doesnt by default Capitalise words, where as Xbox and PlayStation does, so it may of been that. let me know how you get on.
