I amongst others have longed for catering/restaurant/buffet coaching stock to be added for extra variety and realism. Covering Mk1, Mk2 and Mk3 coaches I suggest the following types be included at some point in the future. Mk1 BRK Restaurant Buffet Kitchen Mk1 RB Restaurant Buffet Mk2 PK Pullman Kitchen First Mk3 TRUK Trailer Unclassified Restaurant Kitchen Mk3 TRUB Trailer Unclassified Rest/Buffet Kitchen Mk3 TRSB Trailer Second Buffet There are probably various other variants that I have missed but these are a good start. However, as the following images (not my own) show, there should be better execution/representation of the counters. This should also be backdated to include the GWE and MML Mk3 Buffet cars. GWE HST Buffet as represented at present, looking bland in the closed configuration. Identical to the MML version. TSW4 Sandwedge bar. This is the type of artwork that could be implemented into Buffet vehicles and would vastly improve immersion and realism. I look forward to hearing what you all think.
Just Trains have confirmed that their WCML route will include a Buffet Mk3a but whether it will be open or closed I don't know but TBH, I would love to see more UK Buffet and Kitchen cars
Yes! One of my common comments - other when I'm not pleading for a better scenario editor - is to plug the gaps in BR era coaching stock. Not just the MK1 Buffet/Restaurants, but there are no MK2 brake coaches (BSO, BFK etc) and no aircon MK2 variants. All of these could be used on so many routes and would be handy for modern railtours. I look at some rakes and they are inaccurate because of the missing coaches.
I would gladly buy packs of coaches like you have mentioned above. Coach packs like Skyhooks Cargo Line Volumes would fill various voids.
