I think the interesting thing about these, is that they are priced at only $12, not the normal $20 we've seen from other devs. Thats a great price.
They look nice but want to hear what they sound like before investing - I like a good Alco but only if the audio is correct. And not got FRCE either, shame they didn't do scenarios for Stevens Pass, Marias or the Montana High Line. Well that's what QD and the editor are for!
SP's video from when they were 1st released almost a year ago, not sure if anything has change with the steam release.
It's the same location and train as the first shot of the article (second if you count the cover), which is all about FRCE, so I don't know but believe it is FRCE.
Just mortgaged my TSW5 purchase credit to grab both, looking forward to trying later. And I notice FRCE seems to come with a nice bagful of scenarios in its own right.
Not bad at all. The traction sound nearly blew out my speakers on the usual volume setting and had the wife shouting something from downstairs about, "That bloody train noise..." Couple of caveats though. Horn is decidedly weedy, no build up and no spool down. Maybe a mod will appear in due course. Need to RTFM but dynamic brakes, couldn't find a key command (edit: Found it now, K and Shift K) for the selector handle and when I did manage to get into dynamics using the mouse, found at higher notches the locos were slipping, which I wouldn't have thought ought to be the case. So a 4.5/5 from me. The FRCE looks nice too, the little bit I've seen of it so far.
I bought FRCE during the last big sale and love it been playing that and B&O Mountain sub a lot lately
Strangely, german devs VirtualRailroads have one ALCo in their portfolio, the RS-11 https://virtual-railroads.de/de/diesellokomotiven/186-alco-rs-11-lehigh-valley.html
