Changing Sherman Hill Tracks To Soldier Summit Tracks

I heard by editing the tracks.bin file you can change the tracks of a route. I would really like to change the Sherman Hill tracks to Soldier summit ones (they look nice and I'm doing a version newer version of serman hill.) So could anyone tell me what I need to do to change them.

Edit: I have backed up the Track.bin file

 

Step one clone the route - if you don't a Steam update will overwrite any changes
Use TS Tools to change the track types
Have a read of the Track Changing Tutorial - number 8 on this page http://www.agenetools.com/tutorials.html

Ok I have changed the track and it worked, but the turntable and signals are gone, is this normal?

 

No not normal.
Maybe you changed more than just the track entries
Delete your copy, create another and try again - you are not replacing everything - just the track entries

As a note, while I cannot advise in this matter, always save your progress and back it up somewhere safe. That way, if you make a mistake, you don't have to go all the way back to the beginning; only back one step.

 

Ok weird, I only changed the track entries and the same thing happened. But the crossings changed from Sherman hill ones to Soldier summit ones. And the position of the crossing a weird as well.
