Hello everyone! I'm proposing the east end of the Chatham Main Line, as well as the Kent Coast Line. As it originates at the end of the existing Southeastern High Speed, services on this route are rather similar in character to those from that route. The lines are operated by Southeastern for all passenger services, and contain three major line termini. The Layout: The overall route is a triangle about 25 miles on each side, linking Faversham, Dover Priory, and Ramsgate. The two legs running from Faversham are the eastern branches of the Chatham Main Line from London Victoria, and the leg from Dover Priory to Ramsgate is the extent of the Kent Coast Line. These three segments total to roughly 74 miles, with 24 stations in total. A short heritage railway also exists beside the route, the East Kent Railway, starting from Sheperdswell and running approximately 2½ miles east to Eythorne. The Vehicles: The vehicles servicing this line are the familiar Class 375 and 377 Electrostar and Class 395 Javelin, with the Class 465 and 466 Networker providing service at peak hours when necessary. Ramsgate Maintenance Depot is attached to the north of Ramsgate station, and provides service for all listed EMUs. It is the home depot for the Electrostar units. No especially unique units would be made available by this route, though it is a good opportunity to add the Southeastern 377/5 to the game. The Services: All services are pulled from Network Rail Timetables 187-189 Class 375/377 and 465/466 Faversham - Ramsgate: 1 tph, stopper; 1 tph, semi-fast Faversham - Dover Priory: 1 tph, stopper Ramsgate - Faversham: 1 tph, stopper; 1 tph, semi-fast Dover Priory - Faversham: 1 tph, stopper Dover Priory - Ramsgate: 1 tph, stopper Ramsgate - Dover Priory: 1 tph, stopper Class 395 Faversham - Dover Priory via Ramsgate: 1 tph, semi fast Dover Priory - Faversham via Ramsgate: 1 tph, semi fast A further 1 tph each direction services Ramsgate from Ashford International via Canterbury West (off map), stopping at Thanet Parkway Thank you, Layla
I remember matt doing a poll on would we like more extensions, and I'm sure one of these branches was on the list. There is a chance we might see it materialise one day.
Woah tis as expansion for SEHS Extended would make that route so hugee! We had a highspeed expansion so another commuter expansion wouldn't be too wrong!
I certainly don't think this would be feasible as an extension, as it's almost the same length as SEHS itself! This is intended as a standalone route, that just happens to share a station with another route. I believe it is able to exist on it's own merits, but will interplay nicely with SEHS.
I would like to see Chatham Main Line & Kent Coast also, it is one of the few routes where I don't mind if it doesn't come with a new train
It would be feasible as a extension I think. You would be able to do the full run from St Pancras to St Pancras via Dover and Ashford.
St. Pancras - St. Pancras via Ashford would require another 26 miles and seven stations to be added, bringing the total route to about 100 miles. Making this an extension of SEHS would bring the total route length to nearly 200 miles. That is, to be frank, never going to happen. That's why I proposed it as a separate route rather than another extension. Even more trackage if you want to go via Folkestone
That maybe so. I would mind the route as standalone although an extension would be better. I guess now we have the route hop feature, this gives dtg the perfect excuse to knock extensions on the head. Then there was a time when they said extensions weren't going to happen. With ue I don't think there's any limitations on route length. The only limitation Is dtg. If I had my way, both branches would be added as extensions. Being it's all about the money like most things in this world. Both extensions could be released as paid dlc. Just like hs1 and ekl.
I don't recall any poll of this sort, do you have a link? Also, this should NOT be pitched as a route extension. This would be it's own separate route.
See here: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/south-eastern-high-speed-whats-next.71763/#post-680963 No plans for anything further on SEHS. Time to move on. Matt.
A southern region route is really needed. But not from the southeastern side but the southwestern side to stop so e players moaning that it a route with Electrostars or have it set in br or network southeast
It’s like the same services anyway though? No new trains either it’s just a continuation of SEHS but packaged in a separate route for some reason but tbh with the fact that SEHS is “Done” I doubt this route/extension would ever be made
