It's been a while since we've had a Southern region 3rd rail route so this suggestion is based around a return to the area but set earlier than the other routes, with this being set in the summer of 1999. In 1999 the southern region was still firmly in the grips of slam door EMUs, although units such as the 365s and 465s were beginning to lead to the withdrawal of some of the smaller classes of slam door stock. It was also the last year that CrossCountry services ran to Ramsgate (more on that later). The stretch from Faversham to Ashford International features 16 stations over the 59 mile stretch. Proposed Rolling Stock Class 55 D9000 'Royal Scots Grey' in BR Two tone Green livery with sealed beam light For the 1999 Ramsgate summer Saturday service, Virgin Trains hired in mainline registered 'Deltic' D9000 to run the Ramsgate services in place of one of their famously unreliable Class 47 fleet, with everything from Class 31s to Class 73s ending up on CrossCountry services covering for a failed 'Duff' during the 1990s. The Ramsgate services during 1999 were formed of 7 Mk2F coaches, with these being Intercity liveried in the game due to licensing issues with Virgin. The class 55s design speed was 100mph, but they were known to reach up to 115mph on the ECML racetrack between York and Darlington Class 365 in Connex SouthEast livery 16 of these units were allocated to Connex SouthEastern during privatisation to run on services between London and the South East alongside the 423s. Whilst they were identical visually to Class 465s when first built, they are equipped with different traction motors to 465s so make a different sound when accelerating/deceleration. They also have a top speed of 100mph versus the 465s 75mph Class 423 in Network SouthEast livery The Class 423s were the most common of the 3rd rail EMUs on the Southern Region, with 194 of the class being built. On this route they would find themselves working services from London to Ramsgate via Ashford alongside the 365s as well as local services. The units were limited to 90mph.
I think that would be great It would be nice to see some more Southern region content after going a few years without any, and I think that section would be one of the most interesting
I'd personally prefer the line into Victoria, but this honesty looks great, and I'd love to drive a class 365. There's so many third party developers making UK content, hopefully it won't be too long before we see another Southern Region route.
I’d like to see the Class 411/412 with this route if it’s applicable. The Class 55 operates irregular weekly services based on the information given - so it should be sold as a separate Add-On. 465 could accompany the 365 too.
