Introduction Good morning, driver! Players of Train Simulator Classic will know this route already as it features in the older game, but I would love to see a newer, up-to-date Unreal Engine made version. I have included all the routes that are featured to save on doing one rail line and then making another post for extension ideas should it enter service in the game. The inspiration for the route not only comes from being a fan of the Chatham Mainline and Medway Valley line from TSC, but I recently travelled from Orpington to Rochester via Bromley South for the Rochester Dickensian Festival. Í have even referenced said event as a scenario idea further down in this suggestion. A photo I took of a Thameslink Class 700 Desiro from a fairly knackered-looking Class 465 at Orpington on December 2nd 2023. The Routes London Victoria - Ramsgate. "It was cold, bleak, biting weather: foggy withal..." Drive a busy service from London Victoria to Rochester taking passengers to the town's Dickensian Festival and Christmas Market. Ramsgate Sands. Drive tourists from London Victoria to Ramsgate. Dover Commuter. Drive a busy morning service from Dover Priory to London Victoria. Faversham Faults. You are driving on a delayed schedule due to signalling issues just outside of Faversham, expect further delays, speed restrictions, and a plethora of red signals as you drive from London Victoria to Dover Priory. Snodland Snow. Heavy snow has been forecast for today and could impact your journey (making use of dynamic weather). Cancellations, speed restrictions, and delays could occur as you drive between Strood and Paddock Wood. I do wonder as to whether a DLC of this size could work in the game owing to its scale which pretty much covers most of Kent. As mentioned above, I thought one big suggestion would be more beneficial than requesting a back-and-forth line of London Victoria - Dover Priory. I would like to have more flexibility in routes that have close proximity to one another rather than one terminus to another. If I wanted to ride as a passenger to go from Orpington to Rochester, change to go down to Strood and then Paddock Wood, then I can with this route suggestion. It would be like merging East Coastway and London Commuter into one rather than keeping them separate. To end, I would assume rightly or wrongly that much of the community will have the trains already for this route, and I would speculate as to whether it could be discounted for those who have the required assets.
I'm going to say no to any route which goes between Rochester and Faversham as that is already a separate route in itself (unless it ended at Rochester from London or ended at Faversham from Ramsgate.
This would be good only if a modular system was in place to snap parts of routes together that overlapped, otherwise the line between Rochester and Faversham would be duplicated without the ability to continue on from SEHS onto a CML style route. Also I doubt the full CML/MVL would be represented as part of a single route DLC, it would have to be done in segments. The first and obvious choice would be extending on from SEHS between Rochester and London Victoria, with the Hitachi-motored Networkers (Classes 465/0 and 465/1) as well as the first batch Electrostar subclasses (Classes 375/6 & 375/7).
I dont think this should be an extension though as it would be DTG extending SEHS a second time it would be a good route by itself but this would also be nice to see
As much as I'd like to see this route to these locations, the amount of complaints dtg would get for making what is basically another extension for sehs would be monumental. As such it's unlikely to be made. Smaller new segments may be made like the line towards dover, etc. Nice suggestion though!
Great idea My name is john My favourite route is southeastern high-speed I have been trying to Get Ramsgate In the game With your support I think we might just do it
Ok You aint serious with right? First this is already in tsw and I dont think that this big thing would be implemented anytime soon, The whole timetable would need to be reconstructed and a big one would need to be implemented and would crash the game withing seconds, esp with the st pancras- faversham & ashford international already in, if anything the orpington-london victoria should be added in along with the 466, 377/2, 375/6 not to mention that the 395, 375/9, 700 and 465 are already in so mate you gotta reconsider
Bring it on to the game and introduce the Class 59 shed which is seen in the TSC version of the route and looks better in Unreal 4.26 future 4.27 or 5 like Fortnite and The Bus Berlin
If we get a class 59... I'll cry. It's basically dtg having some lame excuse to say, "oh, but we didn't use a 66! *evil laugh*"
If I wasn't serious, I wouldn't have wasted my time in creating this post. London St Pancras and Ashford International are NOT part of the route. I literally listed every station for each line, and neither of them are present. If you read the entire post, you would have seen that I mentioned the trains that are already in the game, with a possible solution for that.
Ok so are you saying that DT Should make this whole route on its own? INNNNTERRESSTTING............. Im not sure about that....
